Is Ted Nolan the right coach for the Islanders?
That's the question facing the Islanders right now. And if you scoff at me asking that question you should read this blog entry from one of the people who was closest to the situation last year.
One word.
Wow.
I applaud Chris Botta for his honesty...

I think Ted Nolan is the perfect coach for getting the most out of the Islanders less than star packed lineup. Hopefully, with some young goal scorers added to the mix this year, the Islanders can improve upon a injury riddled 07-08 season.
I have no problem at all with Ted. He is a fiery guy and he gets the most out of his guys. I think they need a little more scoring. What would you like the guy to do? I think he is loved by his players and that he and Garth will work it out. I am hopeful!
Ted is a good coach... but he may not be right for a particular team. Since the Islanders will be a different team come October, we'll have to wait and see. But these questions were swirling around the locker room before March. (as I wrote on the Bleacher Report) It'll just take until about December of this year to answer accurately.
