The Final Score

I don't mean to rain on the kid's parade, especially after a gritty at-bat against Jonathan Papelbon last night. But to those of you Yankee fans who think this guy is going to be a starting outfielder for years to come, I don't see it.

Yes, it's only 21 at-bats, so I shouldn't judge him so soon. But what's a blog for? I also realize Robinson Cano was downright awful in his first 21 at-bats. But Gardner, in this incredibly small sample, looks like a fine defensive outfielder with a strong arm and amazing speed. Offensively, though, he looks overmatched. But that's me.
