Gary Sheffield: Now I don't want to play leftfield!

He didn't say that. But that's what's happening. From the Detroit Free-Press:

"His shoulder isn't right, and I don't think it's made any better by playing the outfield, because he can barely lob the ball in," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said.

Remember when Sheffield in 2004 used to catch the ball around chest level because he didn't want to raise his shoulder?

Or when he went three months without hitting a ball to the right side of second base because of his shoulder?

Think the Yankees made the right move dealing him?

Remember when Sheffield didn't want to be a DH.

Tell you what ... if you held his paycheck about 8 feet in the air, he wouldn't have any trouble raising his arm to reach it.
