10 years ago today, Kerry Wood struck out 20

Pretty cool story in the Chicago Tribune commemorating that great performance. Still so stunning that Wood was just 20 at the time and it was only his fifth start in the majors.

I also enjoyed how reporter Paul Sullivan said he covered that game and watched the start in the bleachers with an usher.

I once watched a few innings of a Yankee-Oriole game that I was covered at Camden Yards from the stands. But that was only because (a) it was late in the season, (b) I filed my story early because the game didn't mean anything and (c) I was tired of the press box.

Neither pitcher struck out 20 that night.
