New format for baseball Hall of Fame induction proposed

We don't run a "Comment of the Week" like Neil Best does, but if we did, Delaware would have won this week. (Sorry, Brooks Simpson, Richie G and Tyler Kepner.) That's because I really liked Delaware's idea for a new Hall of Fame induction process. Here's what he said under the debate over Trevor Hoffman's HOF credentials.

Now, if you want a really good debate, here's my thought. There are plenty of players in the HoF who don't really belong. Put a cap on membership -- say 300 players. Then, when you want to bring someone new in, you've got to decide whose plaque you take off the wall and put in storage.

How cool would that be? Of course it would never happen, but I love it.

Wow! Great idea. Maybe someday down the line you can get rid of all those pesky non-NY players.
