Schedule out today

The NBA's 2008-09 schedule will be released this morning. Sit tight and I'll get you the relevant facts as soon as they're out.

A couple of teasers: Lakers-Celtics and Spurs-Suns are the nationally televised Christmas Day games.

A couple of quick hits to get you started today before I take some time to do some newspaper reporting (imagine that ...):

* Earl Boykins is the latest NBA player to sign overseas, joining Virtus Bologna. I'm officially bored with these stories.
* Jordan Farmar, the NBA's only Jewish player, checks in from a clinic he's running in Israel for Israeli and Palestinian children.
* LeBron James would play in Europe for $50 million a year. Me too.
* Bobby Jones, acquired by the Knicks in the Renaldo Balkman trade and promptly waived, has been claimed by the Miami Heat.
