The purpose of this post is two-fold: To tell you it looks like Corey Maggette will be signing with the Celtics, and to let you know we'll be going dark here for the next couple of days. Even NBA writers need a couple of days off now and then.
The Maggette report in the Boston Globe is pretty convincing. Doc Rivers called Maggette to make the sales pitch himself. Boston is only offering the mid-level exception, but that's apparently more than they offered James Posey. Sounds like the leprechauns are aligning for Maggette in Boston.
You guys have been picking up the pace on this blog during free agency, and I greatly appreciate it. We've got a good thing going, so let's keep it alive. See you back here on Tuesday.

Maggette as a sixth man behind Allen and Pierce. He'll be grumbling about his minutes before the All-Star Break. Knicks should sign Posey so we can have 8 SFs.
Maggette is a smart dude if he wants to try and get a ring. However I think its just gonna get harder for Boston's old legs in 09. This years championship the won on heart with all those 7 game series. Next year its gonna get tougher....
K4L You so Hilarious!
