Cuban to Hornets: Stop Whining

Almost forgot: Good stuff from Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on the Sonics' relocation plans and the Hornets' mess in New Orleans. Cuban's comments got some good play on www.sportsbusinessdaily.com today after appearing in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer over the weekend.

Basically, Cuban says he won't necessarily vote in favor of the Sonics' planned relocation -- most likely to Oklahoma City -- and he ripped Hornets owner George Shinn for not trying hard enough to make things work in New Orleans. Despite the Hornets' success, they're struggling to draw more than 12,000 fans for home games.

"Somebody's got to get off their ass and sell tickets," Cuban said in the story. "They've got the best record in the Western Conference and they can't get people to come? That's not New Orleans, that's effort. There's enough people. There's enough basketball fans to get 16, 17,000 people to come."

If you want more Cuban, check out his blog entry on why Yahoo should say yes to Microsoft's takeover bid. Interesting take.
