Ready, set ...

Hot Rizzle here (I've legally changed my nickname).

Ready for more Stephon Marbury talk? Neither are we, but prepare for it. Another storm is brewing and this one could drop a little hail. I gave my take on the impending Marbury situation in this online column.

The King Fixer said it best in his early morning post. Even on a good day, such as the one Knicks fans were enjoying last Friday after Donnie Walsh pulled off those two trades to clear cap space for The Great Run of 2010, somehow Marbury still finds a way to make himself a story.

Quite frankly, whether anyone likes it or not (and I'm sure most of you out there in Fixer Land don't) it's going to be that way until this shake down between Marbury and Walsh ends. Who blinks first?

Doesn't matter, really. As long as someone does. Immediately.

For a company that is owned by Cablevision which owns the Knicks, you guys get very little information. Enough of the Marbury garbage the fans have moved on and so have the Knicks. Go and find out how Eddy Curry and Gallanari are healing from injury. We don't even know if Eddy is around the team anymore get us some solid info. Its almost guaranteed that when you guys are being lazy you get us info about Marbury. Your sister company the Knicks have moved on from Marbury its time Newsday do the same thing. He is really not part of the team anymore, he is like you guys he has access to see practice.

Is it time to really test this matter legally? The bottom line is that Marbury declined to perform when asked. Philosophical considerations aside, that's breach of contract. He wants his full salary, but feels free to play his own game. Determine a severance package and release him. Let the union object if they want. Go to court, if necessary.

I understand him not liking the coach's decision, but he's getting paid. He made sure that was understood to be his priority. He wanted what was owed him, but refused to return what he owed the team.

Of course this will likely get messy. On the other hand, isn't it messy already?

Happy Thanksgiving JoeD!

Thanks for a great blog Roderick and Alan!

Gratefully,

Dave the Rave

@Michael,

Lopez stat line last night against front line of Bynum, Gasol, and Odom.
- 38 minutes
- 10 rebounds
- assists
- 3 blocked shots
- 17 points

A typical night for Brook since he became a starter.
Once he hits the proverbial rookie wall, then his numbers would decline. This is expected.

Marbury: How would you feel if i owed you $100, but only gave you $80?

Well Steph, If someone owed me $100 for providing a service and i failed to provide that service, then I don't deserve that $100 do I? Perhaps i should be grateful that I'm even being offered $80.

"The Knicks needed Marbury to be a team player that night, to be a professional and actually earn some of the tractor-trailer load of cash that's due to him. He wasn't."

Marbury never was a team player, a professional, or interested in earning his money.

Marbury never will be a team player, a professional, or interested in earning his money.

Hahn, your column was insightful, perceptive, direct, and even a bit courageous, what with all these Marbury Defenders out here ready to cap your butt.

When did you grow a spine?
