[I wasn't about to go with another "Hold the Mayo" headline, Fixers.]
OJ Mayo will work out for the Knicks on Thursday at the MSG Training Center. Word is Mayo, who was a star freshman at USC, is being very selective with his workouts -- As K-Berg said in his live blog, Mayo is now with agent Leon Rose after severing ties with BDA -- and the Knicks are obviously on his list.
The Miami Heat are, as well, and the rumors continue to exist about Miami's very strong interest in Mayo, who is working out with Dwyane Wade in Chicago. The Heat traveled to Chicago to watch Mayo work out at Tim Grover's ATTACK Athletics facility, where Eddy Curry and Quentin Richardson also train during the offseason.
The Knicks cancelled their workout for Wednesday, which was supposed to be with Memphis forward Robert Dozier. It was a curious name because Dozier was expected to return to Memphis after realizing he wasn't projected to be a first-round pick.
Stay tuned . . .

i can see that Peaceman is spreading his germs here as well.
wow!!! how can one tolerate that disease carrier??????
anyway celtics in 7
hometeam will win every home game
its that simple
lets take Mayo
he's worth the risk
mayo won't go till 6th pick, and if he does, he will be by far the best player remaining, and there would be no risk
I am almost on board to trading down for later picks vs. having #6. The biggest issue will be who goes where after #7-8...it's a huge toss-up on most guys - as the picks are gonna be based on potential (and that's a lot of opinion).
I'm saying take the best available any position & go from there...always good to have the best possible chip to broker future deals.
i have a pac 10 package on my tv so i basically have watched all of USC's games and OJ Mayo has mad game.
he reminds me of a faster chauncy billups type.
he ran the point well and when they needed him to score he was able to takeover the game.
one of his best game was when USC beat UCLA when they were ranked #1 or #2 and he hit the big three to put them over the top.
also he really played great defense on derick rose when USC played Memphis.
MAYO would be a great pick because he has STAR potential.
@ NYC to Infiniti..
"MAYO would be a great pick because he has STAR potential."
I agree wholeheartedly...In fact, i stated the same in an earlier post. the kid has "star" written all over him.
I also saw that USA/Memphis game early this season....I think they were the finalists in a tourney in the Garden, and Mayo actually looked better than Rose at that point. You could just see that they were both special talents.
I'd love Rose, but I'll be more than satisfied if Mayo lands in our laps.
Alan and Fixers:
On another subject, how about Luke Ridnour running the point, as a low budget, Steve Nash type prospect.
He could possibly flourish under D'Antoini and Seattle won't need him if they draft Bayless?
@ Phil,
The only thing Nash and Ridnour have in common is physical stature, and that, my friend, is where the similarities end.
To call Luke a "low budget Steve Nash" is being too kind.
I agree with u Phil,
Luke is still very young and can run the point, very well...
Problem is he cant play D but in Mike's system that isnt as important as running the team efficiently and knowing the pick and roll game and he knows that very well...
Mike's system turned Nash into a 2 time all-star and lets face it he didnt look as good in Dallas.. Maybe it can turn Luke into a bonafied point in this league... If he even looks half as good as Nash we got something... I'd take a chance on him, he might be one of the players in the league best suited for the job... And he isnt as costly as lets say TJ Ford, who is injury prone...

Are you guys high? Luke Ridnour stinks.
But let's hope somehow, someway Waltoni can convince O.J. Mayo to force his way here.
"Are you guys high? Luke Ridnour stinks."
LMAO @ Sergio....
Hey Serg..pls see my previous post on Luke.
