Wife and I are headed to the hospital in a few. So I toss the keys to Fixer Nation to keep the room buzzing while I go be a Daddy again.
After yesterday's news, what better time for a Guest Blog by one of your own? The fellow Fixer you know him as Sec11RowH was the 10,000th commenter. Here is his post:

As we all know, Donnie Walsh is the new president of the New York Knicks.
IN THE MIDDLE OF OPPORTUNITY LIES DIFFICULTY. Albert Einstein
Certainly, it was a day for die-hard Knick fans, the lifers, we Fixers , to dream the dream that brought us to this time, this web-page. We have written, and our words have been seen. We have screamed, and our voices have been heard. We have stood together and made it clear that WE are the New York Knicks, and we are not going to stand for this garbage anymore. This is New York, it is OUR town, OUR team. Take a hike rich boy, you are WAY over your head.
THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE IT, NO PLACE WITH AN ATOM OF ITS GLORY, PRIDE, EXULTANCY. IT LAYS ITS HAND UPON A MAN'S BOWELS; HE GROWS DRUNK WITH ECSTASY; HE GROWS YOUNG AND FULL OF GLORY, HE FEELS THAT HE CAN NEVER DIE. Walt Whitman
Depending your age, the dream may include Willis limping, Bernard falling back and beating the Celts, Starks 2 of 18, Trent shooting faster than the speed of sound, Ewing on the scorers table, Hawthorn Wingo making it from West Fourth to 34th, Ken "The Animal" Bannister making it at all, Lucas' underhand free throws , Hawkins coming home, the trade for Earl the Pearl, the sweetness of Clyde, X-man in the Pippen's face, Barnett's leg kick fall back, the glory (and ultimate failure) of DeBusschere, the elegance of Russell, the efficiency of Bradley, the facial on Michael, the curse of McDyess, the Ewing lottery.....................this last one is my favorite, the miracle of the ping pong balls, the assurance of delivery from hell, the moment when straight men embraced each other and rolled on the floor in rapture, the guarantee of.....a championship run to rival the great Celtic dynasties........
IT CAN DESTROY AN INDIVIDUAL, OR IT CAN FULFILL HIM, DEPENDING A GOOD DEAL ON LUCK. NO ONE SHOULD COME TO NEW YORK TO LIVE UNLESS HE IS WILLING TO BE LUCKY E.B. White
So here we are Fixers, our collective dreams realized, Isiah twisting in the wind, soon to be (fill in the blank).... And one of our own, a New Yawka, a baller, A WISE MAN, given the keys to our kingdom, the stuff of DREAMS!!!!.........I watched the introduction of Donnie Walsh to my dream world with a mixture of hope, joy, admiration, and......cynicism. He certainly tawked the tawk, and surely he has walked the walk, albeit at an invisible strata of a Saul Steinberg map of America, but still.....for chrissakes, the man is being introduced (and financed by) the sport-world embodiment of Darth Vader! I know I'm supposed to feel good, and I really want to, but a part of me feels like I just did a big line of some premium Columbian and my head is exploding but my bowels are directing me to the nearest bathroom.
LIKE ALL DREAMERS I CONFUSE CYNICISM WITH TRUTH. Carl Sandburg
Now I'm feeling bad, like a wet blanket on all of our hopes. But truth be told, I am as hopeful as the most innocent fan; I BELIEVE Donnie Walsh will succeed. I am the same 11 year old kid who WILLED the team to score the final 19 points in a game against the bucks in '69 to extend their winning streak to 18 games. I REVELED in the Sprewell/Camby team that went to the finals. I wanted to FIGHT alongside Mason, Oakley, McDaniel. I thought Bernard was the best small forward EVER. I still argue that Clyde was the BEST point guard ever. I would vote for Bradley NO MATTER WHO he ran against. I believe Patrick was the GREATEST center of his generation. I think the Strickland-for-Cheeks trade was one of the WORST trades in all of sports history. And yes, assuming (and I feel pretty certain of this) that Isiah is reduced to a non-entity in the Knick universe, I am going to RENEW my Knick season ticket plan for the 25th year.
Call me stupid. Call me cynical. Call my delusional. Call me whatever you want, but call me....A KNICK FIXER FOR LIFE!
THE POOREST MAN IS NOT WITHOUT A CENT, BUT WITHOUT A DREAM. Unknown

ha, ha,
I'm in tears laughing. LMAO
Allah is great
Section11RowH, great blog and truer words were never said.
The readers of this blog are the believers. The fans who come back after being abused and ignored by MSG. Fans who have loved the Knicks since their earliest days.
But the sun is shinning today, as a real leader takes on the franchise. The next great day will be the day Isiah Thomas is fired.
And he must be. He must be lanced, like a boil.
Then we can all move on and once again talk about draft picks, and trades and the players themselves.
And we need to lose the next 7 games, hopefully.
Isiah will take any job to help the Knicks. That's great. How about making him GM of the Pistons?
Outstanding Post! Great job!
Bravo! Well said.
Bernard was the first professional basketball player I remember seeing live at MGS. He was my god for many years (too few actually).
GO KNICKS!!!
Section11RowH,
I have been a trolling this blog for months and your post made me stop and quote Peter Griffin (Family Guy)
" Wait a minute... that's the smartest thing I've ever heard anyone say about anything!"
I tip my hat to you!
I started out as a HUGE Ewing fan and over time started understanding how Oakley set the tone for the teams he was a part of.
1) No layups! He couldn't block a shot, but he never let an easy one go.
2) Any Knick players get hard fouled, he was first on the scene to make sure it never happened again.
3) The head shake: The minute you started anything w/ him, he smiled and shook his head. Like he was saying, "I can't believe you just started sh*t w/ me!"
4) The choke: He never got in a lot of trouble b/c the minute someone swung at him, he'd reach the hand out and grab the guy by the throat. No one knew what to do...
I miss those Knicks...I miss "that guy"...above the other glaring needs...we need an enforcer...to set the tone!
Sec,
Way to blow the Bugle, Boy!
CHARGE!
Congratulations Alan.
Great Post Sec11RowH.
I look forward to that being born in New York thing to translate into a NY Knick Championship. Lenny Wilkens, Stephon Marbury and Larry Brown are New Yorkers.
Patrick Ewing -- Kingston Jamaica, Mass baller, Georgetown
Bill Bradley -- Missouri born, Princeton
Anthony Mason -- Florida born, Tenn. State
Earl the Pearl -- Philly youngster, Winston-Salem
Willis Reed - Louisiana raised, Grambling
Clyde Frazier -- Atlanta kid, Southern Ill. University
Marcus Camby -- Hartford born, UMASS
Now Pat Riley is a New Yawker, with a little Hollywood veneer.
Donnie Walsh? Don't let the probable release of Zeke fool ya.
Still, a great post.
like that last quote! I think it was Moses Malone. lol
The new blog is underway and it won't accept sponcers like Knicksdefense does! Isola should sue him because he is cloning him! @ Barf ....I have everyones email except yours! Hit me @ a temp address PeacmanJR@ yahoo.com. We will be posting here as well. To be honest we were all wrong and Alan was right...this years Knicks were Wacky!!!!! Life is funny, out of the 1 million sperm that compete for the egg...I find it hard to believe that Knicksdefense was the quickest! Even the sun shines on a dogs azz sometimes. lol

Sec 11 - thanks for a good post - here's to a better future.
I know all about delusional, having picked this team to win 41 games and make the playoffs on another site at the start of the season. Yikes. There is good reason to be hopeful though - the Weasel should be relieved of basketball responsibilities shortly, and even an average coach would be a vast improvement. I'm curious to see what this team actually has - with the bizarre line-ups, inexplicable substitution patterns, total lack of d, no identifiable offense, etc. its hard to evaluate what the players are capable of. Walsh has his work cut out for him, but it will make for more interesting watching (and blogging) than the embarrassing garbage Isiah has served up.
Speaking of the "d" - it was amazing watching Memphis shoot open jumpers last night - wide open, in rhythm shot after shot. It looked less like a team getting hot than a shootaround. One of the biggest challenges for Walsh will be replacing the culture of losing with the culture of actually trying.
Yes we have spoken and Dolan finally heard!
Walsh will do the right thing and make solid decisions, especially on Isiah, when he gets all the info from the organization, fans and players.
Let's hope for the # 1 pick!
all i got to say is give mark jackson the coaching job an hopefully he lets ewing oakley or starks be his assistants...
beasley not rose or gordon=ben...
we need a over player that can do it alll rose aint even a good p.g 14 points 4.something assist an people going crazy.lmao...he aint gonna be nothin special in the nba trust me..
Marbury is still the knicks best player.F all ya haters...
stay tuned for more KnowLedge
Nice job, Section11RowH!
Hopefully, Alan will trust you with another post this summer when there's lots (hopefully!) going on. I check Knicks Fix regularly to hear what's going on from a professional reporter, but it's also fun to hear the perspective of a fan.
Speaking of summer, can you guys imagine how much fun we're in for? Think of it.
First, we'll get to enjoy the firing of Isiah.
Then the draft lottery (do ping-pong balls freeze? C'mon Stern, help us out here.), followed by the actual draft (Derrick Rose!) and hopefully a salary-dumping trade or two.
Then, it's on to the buying out of Jerome James.
Once that's done, we can celebrate the departure of Marbury, in whatever form that happens (most likely a buyout. Man, he's going to be a helluva sixth man for the Pistons next year. I generally don't like rooting for people to fail or resenting someone for doing well, but it's going to be hard to watch him have success playing for a coach he likes and backing up, and playing alongside, his friend Chauncey Billups. Marbury has destroyed every situation he's been in, but that one seems pretty likely to succeed. Damn.)
Good times ahead, fixers. Just look at Portland and Philly. It doesn't take much to turn things around in the NBA. Play hard, defend the basket, run your organization with integrity. Then, hope a superstar falls into your lap.
ALAN:
Congrats and best wishes to you and the Mrs. and the little one of course.
Sec11RowH:
Very poetic and very nicely done. Wish I can write like that.
Like I've said from day 1:
* Sucksiah ThomASS was a bad hire from the very beginning.
* One has to be a total and complete idiot to still be supporting and worshipping Znake. Those loyalists are NOT Knick Fans. Those are Isiah Fans.... looking out only for Idiot Thomas' well being. They are 2 very distinct camps.
* Will Dumbo Dolan keep Lord Thomas to take out the trash and clean the urinals at Penn Station? Maybe and maybe not. Keeping him as a Coach is a recipe for disaster.
* Isiah is not tanking games. He is a gifted loser so losing games comes very naturally to him. He is only doing what he's good at;
* I'm still waiting for the Dolan/Stern/Walsh "FIREING" squad:
- preparen
- apunten
- FUEGO!!!
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Finally..........
Hopefully DWalsh can right the Tank-Ti-Knick ship quickly.
More power to him.
ALAN,
After Peaceman and his clowns abandoned and bad-mouthed you and your site, they are back.
Sounds like he or they got voted out of the IsiahLoveFest dot com.
Makes you wonder why?
Man, what a 2-faced vermin..... just like their idol.
Oh well, as long as ASSiah gets cremated, I'm happy.
Peaceman BARF African, Statesman
Whaddup what happened. I went on hiatus and you guys were ousted from Orwells Animal Farm? Whaddup with that.
Where you heads be at now?
Congrats on the kid Alan.
Out of town,so I missed the news conference. Can somebody tell me what happened between Alan and Walsh? I would guess (and hope) he pressed Walsh about Isiah's status . . . but it's just a guess. I'd love to know what they said . . .
And isn't it fascinating how Alan's blog endures? As was true last summer . . . we're better off with just the folks who want to be here. To everyone else - hope they find what they're looking for. But other blog wars are best fought elsewhere . . . we don't need to be in the middle of that . . .
Exhausted...elated...energized...anxious....and that's just off the Walsh press conference! Gracie arrived Thursday afternoon at 4:32 p.m. Thanks for all of your well-wishes and kind words.
Sec11RowH did a heck of a job carrying the blog a day. Makes me think we should have more contests for Guest Blog spots. Or maybe I'm just on a high right now....You're sugar, you're spice/You're everything nice/And you're Daddy's Little Girl...
I'll check in later. Off to the hospital...tossing the keys!
P.S. - I always welcome back those who want to be part of things. The loyal Fixers have a special place, but Prodigal Sons may can always return. Let's do this right this time. No more drama, no more wackiness. :)
ALAN,
A big CONGRATS!!! (I've done that thing 4 times.... LOL).
Hey, give us some stats..... pounds, inches (about Gracie).
And pix pls.
Once The Weasel is gone, New York City and the entire league will be elated and overjoyed. Then we can rebuild for a better basketball team with a real coach and a real GM in NYK land.
And we can talk real basketball. "No more wackiness."
Congrats, Alan!
What do you guys think about this --
If the Knicks are able to draft Rose, why not hang onto Marbury for the season, move him to the 2 (his true position), and let his contract run out to free up 2010 cap space. Then, since Crawford's trade value will likely be as high as it will ever be after this season (he put up good numbers), trade him and try to one of their worst contracts (JJ's or Q) into it. Trade for expiring contracts and draft picks.
Then, you'll be shedding Marbury, Malik, one of the JJ's contracts by end of the season. That would be a huge for freeing up space by 2010.
Also, I think you'd be able to put a competative team on the floor.
rose and marbury, then lee, zach and then maybe a servicable, defensive minded center that you could pick up in either a curry or crawford trade. nate and balkman off the bench as energy guys.
It's not much, but I think it'd be a good first step.
Congrats Alan! All the best to you and your family.
Matt B - What you suggest is better than what the Knicks have now. One key would be Marbury's attitude. I know he's generally been unhappy everywhere he's been, and I've crapped on him for not being a winner, but a contract year is a powerful thing. And he should be healthy. At his age, he's playing for one last score, so maybe a new coach could get him to buy in, move without the ball some. He could focus on looking for his own shot, and, when he stops defending, be given a hook without the offense losing its head.
Crawford seems like a good guy off the court, but his no-d chucking has to go - if only to signal a priority on accountability on both ends of the floor. When your leading scorer and minutes guy is as uncommitted to winning basketball as Crawford, it sets a tone for the whole team. Getting rid of Q would be a bonus - he has become an embarrassment out there, even on this team.
An interior defender is a must. So is a real coach - at the start of the season I was cautiously optimistic about Nate and Zach, and I still think they might have more value in better circumstances. Nate especially - the fact that McMillan didn't want Zach is cause for concern.
Just need that top two pick...
Alan
Congratulations and best of health to you and yours.
At this point reconciliation is an important item to strive for. To that end I don't understand why certain bloggers seek to throw lemon in old or fresh wounds. Might as well recognize we're all Knick fans regardless of our varying opinions on what we believe to be best for the organization.
With that said. I'll wait and see. Lives in New Jersey made an excellent point on Knicksd about jumping the gun to early with excitement about Walsh coming on board. Hope it goes well b/c seeing the Knicks return to prominence is what we all want to see.
I request that a conversation be started about the following topics.
1., If Isiah is not booted from Knicksland, where should he be placed. I assume most of you will think that the answer is were he can do the least damage to the organization. But where is that.
2., Which personnel moves in terms of hiring a GM, Coach etc would the fans like to see. Could Thibodeau or Williams take over the Head Coaching reigns? Would ex Sixer King be a good move at GM- think of how that teams pups are flourishing.
It seems like a time for lively Debate and discussion on what will happen next.
1. How about overseas scouting European players?? That way, we know he's no Zneke-ing around behind the scenes.
2. Like to see some Knicks players on the bench. Herb stays, get Clyde, Ewing, Oakley, Jackson & Starks. Tough sell for any of these guys as head coach...need a guy that will stress defense leads to offense. Maybe Thibodeau...always heard good things about him.
marbury is a CANCER !! he must not be back. if we draft rose, put jamal at the two. two excellent ball handlers w/ great size...we will PUNISH all guards next yr w/ our quickness. and i didn't even mention lil' nate yet.
we def still NEED to block shots next yr though. you know who i'm speaking of. get mr. vanardo in a knicks uni next yr donnie !!!!
gracie alan ?? where'd that one come from. wonder what it would've been if it was a boy...clyde hahn? bradley hahn? bernard hahn? or how about latrell hahn? lol.
Thibodeau has gotten a lot of press for the job he's done in Boston. I've watched a number of Celtics games this season (gotta love League Pass and Tivo). I'm interested in teams that have rebuilt from terrible seasons for obvious reasons - Toronto is another one. Anyways, Boston really gets after it defensively. Obviously Garnett is an elite defender, and Posey and the rooks are solid, but its more than individual performance - its an overall team effort and commitment. Pick and roll, 3-point shooting, the paint - the Celtics are tough all over the court. Even guys like Eddie House and Ray Allen give effort. (It really pisses me off that Allen plays better d than the younger and much more athletic Crawford). A lot of that comes from the attitude Garnett brings, but Thibodeau implemented the system. Could he do the same sort of thing here with these players? That's the problem with having a fraud coach - its tough to tell what the players are capable of.
I don't think this is a bad time to try a rookie coach, since the Knicks are in evaluation mode on the way to rebuilding. They're not winning the title next year, so why not go for an up and comer. If he works out - great, if not, you can go for the name coach in a couple of seasons after upgrading the roster.
Alan, congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of Gracie!
May she bring you good luck and great times.
I'd like to see Isiah in a paper hat selling hot dogs to those fans he blamed for the teams failure.
@ tha prowler - What is you're plan for Marbury then?
I'm not saying to resign him. In a way I'm saying that we've dealt with all his b.s. till now, and we're so close to the end. So lets see it through, and hang onto him for 1 more season for his expiring contract. The players will know he's a sort of lame duck, so they won't pay attention to his antics, and maybe he'll actually give you someting useful being in a contract year.
@ old school, pete - i think Thibodeau is the perfect choice. established defensive coach. has experience. knows NY and knows how special the Garden could be with a tough Knicks team. I'd rather have him than any of the players from that era. He's a proven coach that would be the best choice to re-establish that culture of hard-nosed ball.
Congrats Alan!
A buyout of Marbury is a must in my mind. Can't trade him because we don't want contracts and you can't have him around anymore. He has always been the central problem, and one that never gets solved. Why have a new coach, new GM, and hand them the same old problem.
Thibodeau is due, has his bars from serving at the Garden already, and is of the right mind (defense!)
LA wants Marbury(thank God) Kobe and Steph are tight and he's Kobe's 2nd choice after Kidd, and don't be surprized to find Curry
in Miami! How? Good question but it will most likely happen!
Congrats on the new addition Alan, I will offline email you,
We have a New Blog, and hope you make a cameo!
Peaceman -
Who are you going to trade Marbury to the Lakers for? If any of the players you get aren't in the last year of their contract, then it makes no sense.
I guess they could buy him out, but I'm just thinking realistically. You're already buying out Isiah (presumably). Then you're going to ask them to buy out Marbury too? I just don't know that they'll go for that when you could just wait it out for a year, and make the best of the situation for the time being (i.e. moving him to the 2 spot)
I can't help but wonder if Crawford wouldn't take as many bad shots, if Marbury were at the 2 spot.
It's sad to say, but the best D Crawford played EVER in his career was under Larry Brown. He actually starting using his quickness to stay in from of people...now he's got the "matador D"!
alan,
congratulations! life is a miracle. nice numbers too, born 4.3.8 at 4:32.
good things happen in three's. isiah goes, gracie arrives, and.......perhaps you should buy some lotto tickets.
@ Matt B,
Like it or not ...the head case that Marbury is, he is still one of the top Guards in the NBA, Playing with Kobe, would be the first time in his life that there is someone much better than him, that itself could only make him return to the top of his game in LA.
Stay with me, LA cannot keep both Bynum and Gasol happy!
They may decide to sign and trade Bynum to NY for Marbury!
Sounds far fetched.....but with Marbury....the Lakers become
a complete team, if marbury can keep his head on straight!
Marbury, Odem, Kobe, Gasol and whoever???? That is a dangerous team!
Peaceman -
First, the Lakers would be crazy to give up Bynum. Second, they'd have to trade a contract equal to Marbury's, so it would never work. (the only Marbury-sized contract the lakers have is Kobe) Also, if Marbury is one of the top guards, then why don't you want to just keep him for a season instead of taking on more long term contracts?
off subject a bit, but back to Curry --
think charlotte would go for a trade for Okafor? He's in the last year of his contract. Maybe they'd try to get something for him before he's a free agent. they could use a low post scorer, and curry could pair with nazr mohommed as a PF. Eddy's not a center anyway.
i'd love an okafor on the knicks. he's a little short for a center, but he's got good rebounding numbers, and - more importantly - he blocks shots. plus, he's got a good basketball mind.
if we do a trade to tha lakers we might have to do a 3 way deal in order to make it work. thing is what do we want though. likely a center in the last yr of his deal i would assume. we are filled to tha brim w/ guards n SF's here. how about a 3 way deal w/ indy for a jeff foster type...or better yet for francisco elson or etan thomas wherever they're at.
The Knicks have exactly the same chance of landing Bynum and anything for Marbury that they have of ripping off a playoff clinching win streak at the end of this season. Maybe Orlando will offer Howard?
I like Okafor - any word on whether or not he might be available?
Guys like Foster or Elson would be serviceable in the short term - I'd be happy with any defense/rebounding-minded presence up front. Not just because the Knicks lack that, but it would make Zach look a lot better and bump up his value for a future trade.
Matt B
Bynum is in a position to ask for a 60 million dollar contract!
Consider the bad blood between him and Kobe...some things you never forget! Marbury needs to be on a team where he is not even the 2nd best player on the team! You think Marbury would talk Shyt to Kobe or Odem???? No way, he would fall in line like a girl scout!
Phil would never tolerate Stephon, never okay the deal -- and the Knicks have nothing that can could pry Bynum from them. I'd love to see him in New York but my guess is they're going to try to move ahead with both big men. But if they move Bynum, it won't be to the Knicks . . . unfortunately.
The farther into next season we get, however, the more valuable Stephon's contract becomes to another team. Isiah squandered two maxed-out expiring contracts. Perhaps third time will be a charm and the Knicks will be able to salvage SOMETHING out of the deal. It's not impossible. $22 million off the cap is attractive to any GM. But maybe Walsh, too.
I'd be all for the strategy of moving Stephon to the 2 . . . if we hadn't lived through the last few years with him. I don't think you can bring him back into that locker room, can you? Maybe with a strong enough coach. But is it worth the gamble? I would vote no. Too disruptive. The Knicks have had enough psycho-drama. I can't imagine Stephon will be wearing orange and blue next season.
I'd still like to know what happened at the press conference ? ? ?
i gotta laugh.marbury with his head rite is a better player than crawford an rose combine yall screamin for rose when there are much better players in the draft.
if the knicks don't draft beasley if he is on the board when the knicks pick i'm never watchin a knick game again..
itz like alot of yall just started watchin basketball.itz like people that think these southern dudes can rap or they got talent.i gotta laugh cuz when u don't know better u say dumb ish or is it i'm not country minded..
marbury with the rite coach will have a good season crawford i like but he gotta go...zbo over curry..lee an balkman are great energy..
i would play collins over crawford atleast u get D collins is good for 10 7 7 a nite..u can't have a soft s.g=crawford.starks over crawford anyday...
stay tuned for more KnowLedge
some weird stuff comes out of you knowledge, but i do often agree with your ideas. and in this case, i fear you are right about rose, i don't see him as the point solution for the knicks. definitely, if beasley is available, you have to take him, regardless of positional needs. he is the real deal, and should have a monster nba career. if beasley is gone, i would consider trading down and going for ty lawson.
i don't see how marbury is tradeable, if you goal is to get under the cap by 2010. the only reason a team would trade for him is if they were trying to dump a long term contract, which clearly conflicts with walsh's stated goal. and buying him out makes no sense either, as what kind of discount are you really going to get (other than the matching luxury tax benefit). i think you are going to see marbury playing for the knicks again next year.
the guy who is almost certainly going is curry, as he doesn't fit into a walsh scheme at all. good riddance. zbo's contract is,sadly, untradeable, we are stuck with him. at least he's got game, and who knows, if a decent culture is installed around him, he may respond.
again, i know this is heresy in this town, but if the right deal came along (one that would allow you to package a nasty contract out of here), i would seriously consider moving lee. the guy is going to be a restricted free agent soon, and do we really want to be committing big bucks to him when what we really need is to clear salary? if it costs us lee to get rid of curry, then i would do it.
I'd prefer Lee to get rid of Z-Bo.
Why?
B/c Curry's salary is smaller, and he might be slightly more attractive for that reason and b/c he is a big low post scorer.
That's my two cents.
I'm on the Thibodeau bandwagon also.
Would we have to compensate the C's for him?
i luv lee thatz my favorite knick other than marbury when he is on point with his game.lee is on his way to a big payday are the knicks willin to pay him more than the other teams i don't know but i would keep him...
curry needs to go atleast we get offense an rebounds from z-bo.
can't have a big dude as ya center an he can't rebound nor block shots...
i want a new face as coach meaning som1 that hasn't coached b4 also want ewing as a assistant..
beasley at the small will be perfect...
lets see what walsh does.i'm curious.....
stay tuned for more KnowLedge.
The biggest knock on Beasley is his head: does he really want it? That's the scariest part of his game, and NBA history is littered with talented head cases who never became what they could have (Michael Ray Richardson, Reign Man, Isiah Rider, just to name a very few...if you want to be harsh, even put C-Webb on this list). OJ Mayo's shown more growth this year than Beasley has.
Between Curry and Randolph, and it's pretty close, I'd take Curry, because (1) he seems more coachable, and (2) his contract is much, much smaller. Since their games are so similar, and Eddy doesn't seem to tune out his teammates and coach quite as completely, I think he's a better long-term bet. And I say that becase a low-post scoring threat is a real commodity in this league. (I'm worried that the Knicks blew their best chance at trading Zach for cap-friendly contracts this winter, but you never know.)
No way the Lakers will evver let go of Bynum. They'll give him a near-max extension this summer, because he's shown so much growth in his three years. I don't think there's much bad blood to speak of between him and Kobe: Kobe directly challenged his manhood, and he responded, in a big way. Bryant hasn't said boo since the start of the season, and I think he's acknowledged that, to win a championship, that team needs Andrew in the middle. When healthy, the Lakers are the most complete team in the league: a veteran point and a talented young backup; the best scoring 2 (and best overall player) in the league; a versatile 3 who can crash the boards; a scoring and passing 4; and a back-to-the-basket, rebounding, shotblocking 5; with young, energetic reserves like Walton and Turiaf. Bynum's going nowhere. He's not an idiot like Steph was, leaving Minnesota.
Ok here is some stats for those who foolishly think that Rose wont be at least as good as Marbury in the pros... Marbury in his one year of college avg 18.9p, 4.5as, 3.1rebs in get this 37.4mins... Rose avg 14.6p, 4.7as, 4.4 rebs in 28.6 mins... And on the biggest stage in college his avg 19p, 6as, 6rebs...
He has elevated his game in the tourney... And has already gone further in college then Marbury(he made it to the Sweet 16)...
So im inclined to believe that he will be at least just as good as Marbury in the pros... I watched Steph in college and he was good but Rose is just as good and will be a better pro.... Why, because he has a better attitude then Steph, straight up... People dont like playing with Steph period. He is a cancer, everywhere he has went he has left carnage... He is not coachable and Rose is... Marbury is selfish, and he could have a good year stat wise next year but most likely at the expense of the team... He is never happy, funny thing is all he ever wanted to do is come to NY and look... He hanst been happy here, nothing is ever good enough for this dude... They were winning with Kurt, and Van Horn but he didnt like them... Now look, he has been a part of the 2 worse teams in Knick history... I wont even go into what he did in NJ, Minny, or Phoenix... He is a depressing character but whereever he goes(and he will go) I wish him the best... Maybe he will finally learn to be happy... But as far as Rose he is a team player he could put up 20 every night but he defers to his teammates... The Knicks lack a good point and as u saw yesterday that can take you far...
The Knicks have gone through the last few seasons with Marbury (who I agree seems to be a cancer) and one more won't sink the franchise. There is nothing he can be realistically traded for that is as good as watching his 20 mil come off the payroll at the end of the season. Players also tend to be more manageable/professional in their attitude in a contract year - he'll be showcasing himself for the league and his reputation is well known by this point, so I'd expect him to keep a pretty low profile and try to look attractive to other teams. If he were a free agent now, he'd be lucky to get a mid-level offer.
I don’t know how many of you play Cyberdunk, but it would be cool for some of us Knick fans to get a team together. Maybe we can build a Knicks team that doesn't suck. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a MMORPG basketball sim. Highly addictive and for true basketball geeks only. Here’s the link if you’re interested:

the sound you just heard was collison's draft stock crashing through the floor. rose has completely exposed him. on the flip side, douglas-roberts looks pretty serious. somebody please buy kevin rose an equinox membership.
BUY OUT MARBURY! You're trying to build a young team. You're bringing in a new coach. A whole new program. As fans, as Knicks president, as Knicks GM, as Knicks coach, what should be demanded is Attitude, Effort, Committment, and Respect. Even if Marbury is on his best behavior in the last year of his contract, I doubt he'll have any positive influence in the locker room. He has to go as much as Zeke. I can see both sides of the Curry or Randoph debate, but I have trouble understanding any fan actually wanting Marbury back.
The real cancer, Isiah Thomas, played Chandler 30 seconds against Hornets. It seem as though Znake was actually trying to win the game. WHY?
- is it because Zneaky boy felt compelled to give New Orleans fans, (NYK playing for the 1st time there since Katrina), a real game as opposed to the garbage that the NY fans have been accustomed to?
- or knowing he is a few days away from the 'fireing" squad, he does not want to tank it anymore, he want NYK's lottery position to deteriorate;
- why the sudden urge to win by The Profit Isiah? Go figure.
MARK JAX:
He got the smarts & personality to be a very good coach. He needs to be an Assistant Coach first to learn the ropes. DWalsh is fond of "giveing" coaches with no experience a chance so he may get his chance. I hope it won't be Quinn Buckner revisited. Mark is an All-Time arrogant f*ck. However, I think he has matured enough to realize that his arrogance can be his downfall.
