Jerome James being in the league should be listed as an injury to the collective world of decency in sports.

I’m sick and tired of reading about the big bad MSM. Let’s dispel this notion that there’s some monolithic “mass media” out there to begin with. Maybe what the defenders think is true of Isola and Berman. I'm not qualified to say. But it's certainly not true of guys like Alan and Beck at the Times. And that's the point. There no such thing as one homogeneous "media" point of view. For the media conspiracy theorists, life is a fairy tale – either all good or all bad. Hence, anybody who criticizes Isiah or Dolan AT ALL is filled with hate. They are threatened by objectivity. The problem is, the team is so bad at the moment, that even objective reporters can look at the Knicks and decide (1) the team is in chaos and (2) management is doing a crap job. And now we’re to believe Dolan is a visionary because he’s "standing up to" the MSM? If anybody is gullible enough to believe James Dolan is a crusader against a media conspiracy . . . they deserve the team they’ve gotten under his ownership. Where I agree with “Anti” is that Dolan would be stupid enough to do the opposite of whatever some writers are in favor of . . . whether or not it’s in the team’s best interest. Now THAT I believe.

Maybe Isiah will be able to turn this team around. But at the moment, we have one of the worst teams in the league. Again. Not just by their record. By what they’ve shown on the court. That’s not based on what MSM has written. It’s based on watching the ineptitude and indifference on the court.

It’s naïve in the extreme to write off all criticism of a terrible team as “lies and rumors.” But the anti-media position becomes transparent with the following:

“Now why not write what Julian wrote about her team the Nets, that every win is a good win?”

The sad fact is that every win is NOT a good win. It’s clear from this sentence that the writer doesn’t want solid, objective reporting. He wants a cheerleader. And that’s fine. Just don’t call it journalism. ‘Cause it ain’t.

I don’t want only good news. I want ALL the news, both good and bad. That’s a reporter’s job. What the media conspiracy crowd wants are sports pages written and edited by a team’s PR department. And that’s fine, too. Just don’t attack those of us who prefer our news with a dose of reality attached.

That's what I'm talkin' about.

This was a good win, and it was fun to watch. Still gonna be a long week, but beating Utah is a good start.

Again the game tightened up in the final minutes, and again NYK bent but didn't break.

ZBo and Marbury, players of the game. And they finally blocked a few shots.

Keep it up, Knicks.

I feel the knicks are gonna get it together along as they work as a team. Everyone want to fire the Isiah, but I think that the will play better with out him. You would change some guys or we will be in the same or worst position. LET GO KNICKS!!!!

The Knicks have me buying into Thomas' plea to give it time.

Great win that really showed their explosive offensive potential and their ability to make defensive stops.

The problem: there's still no on the court leader. This is what I think will keep the Knicks an inconsistent team that will struggle to make the playoffs.

I feel the kincks are gonna get it together as long as they work as a team. Everyone wants to fire Isiah, but I think the the team will NOT play better with out him. You would have to change some of the guys or we would be worst than what we already are. LETS GO KNICKS!!!

Matt B,

If things keep up the way they're going, Randolph could very well become the floor leader. He comes to play every night, and if anyone could lead by example it would be Zach.

And I think Marbury's on a mission to gain back the respect he squandered with the AWOL episode. He's played like a demon for two straight games, and if he keeps it up he may end up winning back more fans than he had before.

zbo's presence will take a lot of pressure off of jamal. it was all jamal all the time at the end of games last year, and that is not a good thing. the fact that this team hasn't folded when challenged in the 4th the last 2 games is huge. marbury seems to thrive in the "me against the world" mode....whatever works for him, at this point i'll take it.

the crazy thing is, through all of the crap this past two weeks, you could still feel the love in the arena. i don't think any other team in ny, even the yanks, have as deeply passionate fans as this team.

they beat a VERY good team tonight, i was duly impressed. our second unit is a huge weapon, i don't know of any other team in the league that can flaunt this kind of physical second wave. it seems the rotation, roles, and minutes are becoming clearer, and this second team is developing an identity (athletic, good defenders, slashing opportunistic scoring).

i still don't get it: what the hell was portland thinking about trading zbo for ...i can't even remember his name....yeah, frye. there has to be some dark secret we just don't know about yet. the guy is a monster on the offensive end and the glass (though a total slack on D).

why don't the knicks force zbo and curry to get in shape? they are clearly carrying too much weight.

anyway, it should make for an interesting week, starting in beantown, though undoubtedly they will get slammed by the suns, who i am betting on to finally go all the way this year.

I'm trying to figure out who is more bummed out tonight.

Lupica or Isola?

They were almost news makers.

Good News: Marbury was the player of the game.
Bad News: Marbury was the player of the game.

The problem with the Knicks is that their best player is prone to playing out of control once he gets excited. Marbury played GREAT tonight, but yet you still saw him getting too amped and throwing balls into the stands.

I don't want to take anything away from him. I don't want to take anything away from the team. But...championship? Not for at least a few more years.

That being said, if they can keep playing like this I won't feel completely embarrassed that I own season tickets.

To the guy in 424: keep the Jared Jeffries comments coming. Priceless.

By the way . . . congratulations, Alan. Great news. Hope everyone is cheerful and healthy at your house.

Sec11,
Good points about Zach and Crawford. Having two confident guys down the stretch makes a big difference.
Balkman and Jeffries are great together. The Knicks are a different team when they are on the floor.
Whats important is that everyone who played made a contribution in the win.
