You might have noticed the frequency of this blog has been squelched a bit. Two factors reign: 1. All of the beat writers are trying to stay more than an arm's length away from the Isiah-Anucha trial (it's not our territory and we have to work with this man, for better or for worse, over the course of the coming season); 2. I've got the dreaded summer cold that no legal drug in the world can overcome.
Sledgehammer, meet head.
Reading the coverage of the trial only makes my head feel worse. All the he-said, she-said B.S. that's fit to print. Innuendo and allegations. Let's toss the intern under the bus while we're at it. I wonder if Anucha plans to share any of the cash winnings with this girl now that her name's been revealed and her involvement (regretted or not) with Stephon Marbury publicized to help support Anucha's case?
Man, I don't want to know. Don't want to know. Good thing for me I've only been around this team on a daily basis for a year. I don't know enough about the people behind the scenes or what goes on there.
What I know is you can often look up to see where the rain is coming from; in this case, James Dolan is the black cloud. Poor leadership degenerates even the greatest empires. Not breaking any new ground here, I know. But it's the only result I get after compiling all of the information I've had to read about this ridiculous trial that comes weeks before the opening of what is supposed to be a promising season.
And we can't even enjoy that right now.
U2 speaks the words I need to hear and share . . . reaching for my meds and the box of Kleenex to blow out the mucous. Wish it was as easy with the Knicks.
I'm not just deaf and dumb
Staring at the sun
Not the only one
Who's happy to go blind
There's an insect in your ear
If you scratch it won't disappear
It's gonna itch and burn and sting
You want to see what the scratching brings
Waves that leave me out of reach
Breaking on your back like a beach
Will we ever live in peace?
'Cause those that can't do
Often have to
And those that can't do
Often have to preach
To the ones
Staring at the sun
Afraid of what you'd find
If you took a look inside
Not just deaf and dumb
I'm staring at the sun
I'm not the only one
Who'd rather go blind
Intransigence is all around
Military still in town
Armour plated suits and ties
Daddy just won't say goodbye
Referee won't blow the whistle
God is good but will He listen
I'm nearly great
But there's something missing . . .
. . . You're not the only one
Staring at the sun
Afraid of what you'd find
You step back inside
Not sucking on my thumb
I'm staring at the sun
I'm not the only one
Who's happy to go blind

The Bergen Record reported that the Nets have enough interest in Allan Houston to at least bring him into training camp in a non-committal way. But it sounds like the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the Akron Beacon-Journal, also like Houston enough to bring him in for a private workout. This is exactly what Houston wants: a bidding war.

Bills tight end Kevin Everett is expected to walk again following a life-threatening spinal cord injury suffered last week in the season-opener. Everett had surgery on Monday and there was a very grim prognosis by the attending surgeon. But the man who is predicting a brighter outlook for Everett is none other than Dr. Barth Green, the Miami neurosurgeon who performed the microdiskectomy on Quentin Richardson's back last spring.
“Based on our experience, the fact that he’s moving so well, so early after such a catastrophic injury means he will walk again,” Green told the Associated Press. “It’s totally spectacular, totally unexpected.”

Does anyone know if James Dolan and George Bush are friends? They seem to have a lot in common.
That’s “in-depth” General Harewood. You are a wealth of info.
For Payton to play his final season in GS, his homecourt (close enough) would be nice.
Baron and Payton together? Would be awesome if Gary can still perform.
It was neat to see the ‘noxious’ one get his ring, and dang, he hit some big shots for the Heat.
I recall Sir Charles & others labeled Gary the best player in the planet at one time during the 90s (must be when MJ was swinging his bat).
Sweet shooter Houston coming back..... obviously he's not doing it for the money. Pride, unfishished business, and love of the game are great motivators. I have more respect for AH now than when he was playing. (I just hope he doesn't explode on NYK)
So, Alan, when you see a man or men harassing, abusing, or beating a woman or women, you just close your eyes and walk away?
Especially, Alan, if you have to work with that man?
The female staffers at Newsday, not to mention your female neighbors in the land of Home Improvement, really ought to enjoy this confession.
To say nothing, of course, of Mom and any sisters, aunts, and/or female members of your brood.
I find your attitude repugnant, disgusting, self-serving, and hideous to the extreme.
Lotsa Kitty Genovese Observer in you, kid, and that's just sick.
Where's your sense of common decency? Of community? Of integrity? Of base values? Of humanity?
Or did you give it all up for a gig with the Knicks?
Let's see you wiggle your way out of this one, or perhaps this is the mentality all ballers, current and former, take toward the female persuasion?
Charles,
I agree. I've thought that myself. Both of them are who they are because of their daddies. Both men are recovering alcoholics. Both have too much money and power. Both have low IQ's. Both men probably just do what they're advised. Both are stubborn to admit when they're wrong. One has run the knicks into the ground, the other has taken a 127 billion dollar economy surplus and turned it into a 9 trillion dollar deficit.
Go old money!
Everett,
Innocent until proven guilty, in this country, pal.
"Captain; There's traitor on board! Examine the horns!" A wolf in sheep's clothing. Judas is aboard.
We're "just bloggin" but what we fail to realize is that over a period of time a psychological profile can be ascertained from the bloggers in relation to the way they respond, or don't, to issues.
Mak, your profile is complete. You're not mistaken for Mark. You deserve to be with him over at Frank's place massaging each other's nuts.(homo) You were the one blogger that consistently identified with him.
I would rather deal with the Klan, because I know where they're coming from. What I can't deal with, are the hypocrites that smile in your face and stab you in the back. That's Mak.
How would you consider an individual who wants your team to lose for the sole reason to get someone he hates, to be fired? Fan or Foe? I choose to call that person a foe.
My style is Malcolm X, not Martin Luther.
This may sound like diatribe at this point, but it would be prophecy in December when this knick team have their first three game losin streak.
This is not Checkers, this is Chess. I'm ten plays ahead Mak.
Hey Everete,
We still live in the United States of America, right ?
The constitution still exists, right ?
You are innocent until proven guilty. If we lived in a world were accusations were thrown about and immediately acted upon it would be alot like the salem witch trials.
And many people would unjustly lose their lives.
Been observing for a while. Noticed too much kissy-kissy.(no homo) Good to have an adversary. Makes the convo more interesting.
Everett:
Your post is based on a fallacy, so the content has no merit. Read your first sentence. Alan or no one else saw "Nuche" being harassed or abused by Zeke or anyone else. What if Zeke stated that she constantly squeezes his ass behind closed doors, would you be so quick to believe him?
It's all he said, she said. Nothing to be repulsed about. As a matter of fact many women hate the fact that women use that sexual abuse bull, to get even with their bosses when they can't get what they want. That's a good reason to find them repugnant, disgusting, self-serving and hiedous to the extreme.
From your first post, there's lots one can gather from your attitude. Don't let your biases influence you. Let the courts decide.
LOOK ISIAH IS MORE THAN LIKELY GUILTY IT IS CLEAR THAT AFTER ALL THE FATCS STATED AND HE SAID SHE SAID ISIAH HAS NO SELF CONTROL OR CONTROL OVER HIS PLAYERS.(STEPHON MARBURY)SINCE WHEN IS IT OK FOR PLAYERS TO HAVE RELATIONS WITH STAFF MEMBERS OR COACHES. OBVIOUSLY DOLAN IS A POOR JUDGE OF CHARACTER AND DOSNET KNOW SQUAT ABOUT BBALL. ULTIMATELY ITS HIS FAULT FOR ALLOWING ISIAH TO RUN THE SHOW IN SUCH A HORRIFFYING MANNER. HE WANTS TO SIT BACK AND LET THE TEAM GO TO WAIST IS MY OPINION. I WISH OWNERS HAD TO HAVE SOME SORT OF KNOWLEDGE TO BUY A FRANCHISE NOT JUST MONEY.BECAUSE TO US THE FANS ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY ITS ABOUT THE TEAM AND PERSONELL OF THE TEAM AND WINS AND LOSES
I wish posters had to pass a basic common sense test before they were allowed to post.
Everett
Until we know ALL the facts, we don't know if she was harrassed. The fact that she brings Marbury into this proves more to me that it is ONLY DIRT she is dishing out. AND 10 MILLION DOLLARS!!! what can a person SAY to another that they are entitled to 10 MILLION? If she wins I will go next. I remember a co-worker once saying I had a "nice butt". Is that 10 Million dollars? Alan has to work with Thomas and maybe Browne Sanders again. It's best he stay out of it.
People claim stuff all the time. Like the Smith woman in S.C. who claimed a few years back that a blackman kidnapped her kids. All people are not honest! Not saying that he is innocent, but if I were Thomas I would try to get closer to those Knick-City Dancers.......NOT ANUCHA!
Starburyfan,
You said in a previous post that there must be other "stars" that never made it. I just thought that if you had interest in that sort of thing you'd enjoy looking up Earl "the goat" Manigault. He would be the one I think of when I think of wasted talent. The guy could grab a roll of quarters of the top of the backboard. He was incredible.
JohnQ
I've heard of him. Kenny Smith has mentioned his abilities on Inside the NBA. Is he from NYC? Wonder if there is any footage on the goat on youtube.
Everett:
Your post and the statements in it show me and all the other fixer's that you have taken a position on the matter of the Browne v. Thomas trial even before the judge and jury have reached their own conclusion about the matter. Second your reactionary commentary of our host AH shows how little attention you payed to the message he was actually trying to get out.
I read the post by Hahn and it seems that what was disconcerting form him was how the rest of the NYC media instead of merely reporting the matter have gone even further to take a position and use the controversey to launch a platform of venom-- as is usually done against the Knicks in genereal. That is what Hanh means by taking more than an arms length interest in the trial.
Next, Hahn appears to point his assessment of the malaise the trial is creating in all directions and not necessarily taking sides as some reactionaries tend to do. Hahn points out that a it's not just MSG that is being run through the mud rather also people who might not share in any possible purse obtained by Anucha Browne-- e.g., the intern. Also Hahn points to the central component of the organizational weakness at MSG, namely Mr. Dolan, and how the can of worms unleashed at this moment are more a reflection of the rot and decay that Mr. Dolan has failed to keep in check.
If you read his Blog you'll also understand that the trial is an ugly matter and that at this time the truth of what was going on in the Knicks organization is still a matter of speculation. Sadly the cloud about this trial puts a damper on a hopeful season for a franchise that has for quite too long only known loosing and at best mediocrity.
I said in a post way back that I took the position of innocent untill proven guilty with regards to the overexposed Michael Vick matter. I take the same position here.
Final point is that all the mud slinging by the Browne Sanders team is probrably to create the perception that a work environment where alot was aloud to go on unfetterred strengthens their contention that it was highly possible that any advances by Thomas-- if established as true-- did indeed go on and was not curtialed by the organization. It's a smoke and mirrors for the purposes of pursuading that something is more likely than not so that they take the next somewhat logical leap that Thomas did indeed approach Sanders in offensive manner.
Anyhow. Fook that! I'm tired of this shyte, can't wait till the Street and Smith and other preseason stuff comes out.
Some one tell me when pre season mags are coming out.
No one has all the facts yet. Where are these people coming from talking about Isiah's guilt? Nothing has happened yet?
Are they psychics? If so, I got some work for you to do and I'm willing to pay top dollar. Say it with me now, LOTTO! We could be rich. Hey, you never know.
What's telling to me is that the people that "Nuche" is using to bolster her case, have no interest in testifying. I only watch law on TV but isn't that called hear-say?
If you have no case other than hear-say, you're basically digging yourself a hole. If she doesn't have enough of her OWN claims to climb out of that hole then she might find herself assed out. No money. No pride. No nothing.
If she walks away with nothing, then what? A public apology?
Alan, as the new Knick reporter on the block, do you think there's a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of media access to the Knicks? Do you think this case and its completion will have any positive affect?
African
I see you on the adversary comment. Kissy Kissy? You talking about me aren't you? WTF!? A guy can't be peaceful? I'm excited about the upcoming season is all. Ain't no one gonna take me off my perch. I'se chillin!
Plus, there's no worthy adversaries. When the gang gets going, if you're facts aren't straight, you're going down. True or not true?
Starbury,
He was born in Charleston but raised in Harlem. I think there was a even a movie about him starring Don Cheadle.
Barf:
I feel you.(no homo) It's not you in particular, just the tone of the blog. When we all agree and are true fans with no real action with the team, I tend to just observe. It's all good though.
It's kinda hard for me out here in the "burbs" I had to do my paperwork over to collect my food stamps and welfare check.
Also, whenever I'm in line bloggin on my iphone, these folks look at me funny! That never happened in Urbanland. It's quite an adjustment, but I'm managing.
African,
Hmmmmmmmmm........I wonder why hard working tax paying individuals here on Long Island are looking at you funny while you talk on your overpriced i-phone ? We just love paying for fake broke, system using individuals such as yourself. I couldn't be happier paying for a free loader such as yourself. Keep up the good work !
Please, for the sake of all humanity.
Everyone please put their thesauruses away.
Even english professors encourage their students to write in their ordinary speaking language.
Your number one concern is that of your reader and the ease with which he reads your work.
BTW, if George Bush ran the Knicks,at least we would kick the cr*p out of the enemy.
Dolan has been destroying our beloved Knicks since he arrived, and I hope to live long enough to see that turd bring Cablevision to Iraq, and leave New York and the Knicks behind.
JohnQ
Huh?
African
You're the soldier of the blog looking for conflict to squelch. But you're also the Professor. It must be hard trying to balance that out. God bless and enjoy times of peace!
This case is truly a boring affair. Straight General Hospital garbage. All the pseudo women's rights activists are coming out of th woodwork.
Where are they when there's real work to be done? Isiah isn't holding anyone down. If I really had a problem with a person, you wouldn't find me playing a game of horse with them.
I'm convinced he's was just being a complete a--hole. I mean, first he verbally abused her and THEN he sexually harassed her?
Thats a bit out of order. I imagine the sexual harassment comes first AND THEN, after your advances have been shot down, the verbal abuse begins.
All this is so confusing. None of it makes sense.
Barf,
Am I wrong or is African stating that he collects food stamps and welfare but can afford an I-phone ? Who do u think pays for that ? You and me buddy !
If he was just joking I'll apologize in advance but I don't like people who take advantage of the system and laugh about it. You may be stealing from me but don't laugh at me w/ my cash in your hand.
@Scott D
I would not say Dolan is "destroying" the Knicks. He has given the GM's (Layden and Thomas) the freedom to get the players they want regardless of their cost. ......Now what is doing behind close doors with workers(Anucha trial) is another story.
I personally want an owner who has the resources to bring in top players for us. WHO? and WHY? that's another story up for debate.
JohnQ:
Don't get your panties in a bunch. The iphone was a gift from Alan for moving to the "burbs". Did you know that I also didn't go to school and have no education.
I was about to say thanks to you when you said keep up the good work. Now I know you were not serious, but mad at me. C'mon!
Alan
This "Everett" person sounds like an old girlfriend you dumped. Or why else is she coming down hard on you?
Big Ben Wallace is promoting his brand-spanking new affordable shoe.
LBJ (Lebron) takes LASIK mainstream.
JohnQ
You should probably ask questions before you jump out on a limb like that.
I think the Burbs he speaks of is this blog as it has often been called. It's real clean and tidy in here in comparison to the free-for-all atmosphere we have all been used to.
I think he can adequately explain the rest of his post if he so chooses.
ok ok I appologize. I ASSumed when I shouldnt have.
Oden Lost For The Season?
September 13, 2007 - 2:07 pm
Yahoo! -
Greg Oden, the Portland Trail Blazers ' No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, will miss the 2007-2008 season after knee surgery on Thursday, two league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Oden, the 7-footer out of Ohio State, underwent exploratory surgery on his right knee on Thursday in Vancouver. The extent of the damage was not immediately clear, but Oden, one of the most celebrated young players in years, will be lost for the season.
The Blazers are expected to make an announcement shortly. [READ]
Didn't I tell you guys last weekend that he was the next Sam Bowie?
Damn Shame!
Go Knicks
Reggie Evans just happy to "be wanted".
Houston Rockets second round pick, Carl Landry, is unhappy with his contract offer. Any other takers out there?
JQ
First thing, I loved the Denzel movie(JohnQ). One of the best "Father of the Year" movies in my opinion. Second thing, if a post by a blog regular sounds crazy or mad ignorant, its probably someone being facetious. Take that as a rule cuz it's usually the case. The regulars here are not ignorant folk even though some people choose to treat them like they are. These dudes, more often than not, are keen observers and sometimes take the rhetorical or metaphorical route rather than spoon-feeding readers. I appreciate it cuz the alternative is postings by stale writers spewing cliche'd poo.
ELITIST BASTARDS!!!
LoL.
And always remember, the only pro writer here is Alan Hahn. You should cut us all some slack.
Speaking of pro-writers,
LNJ,LNY has been MIA. What's the deal?
Davonn
SAY IT AINT SO!!!!!!!
No way. In his blog he said it was a nothing of a surgery.
Greg Oden is out.....they now need a center......Can we GIVE them James?.....for nothing.
Haha. OOh.
I had to go to the Portland blog and gloat a bit. That's funny.
I like G.O. though so I feel bad that he has to miss out. If he's ever healthy, I wonder how much impact he'll have.
I bet they regret not picking Durant now.
Heck yeah DLT....
Offer them Jerome James and get him out of here...
BARF...I told you guys..this guy is so over rated it's horrible.
He is pure hype...
Oh yeah real quick...
For all you people that think athletes are over paid....try telling that to that kid Everett's family from the Buffalo Bills...
People who say players are over paid are living in dream land.
Basketball-Related,
Greg Oden is out for the year. I am sure Portland could use Zach's low post scoring. That was a good trade by Zeke. He must have negoitated the trade just after calling Nucha a beach & whoe.
Speaking of Microfracture surgery......
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/7222114?MSNHPHMA
Now they're (portland blogs) are talking about the Spurs. How, when David Robinson went down for the year, they went to the lottery and picked up Tim Duncan. They are trying to find the silver lining in all of it.
So sad.
HAHAHA
But really, they weren't going to make any noise this year anyway. The West is as strong as ever and Houston upgraded majorly. Memphis is getting together too and every team that made it to the playoffs last year has a legit chance to make it back. Portland hasn't really been set back too much. But if Greg Oden doesn't get out of the starting gate developmentally...he may never.
I just thought it would be a nice thing to do and give them someone (only James) to replace Oden. Feel bad for Channing, he now is a good guy in a bad situation.
Channing is going to get some serious burn. You reckon Aldridge holds down the 5 and Frye is at the 4, Roy is legit and I have a sneaky feeling Taurean Green is going to be playing alot by the end of the season. They're going to lose, but I think they are going to have alot of fun. I hope Channing has worked on his D and his rebounding (he showed signs last year) or he will be exposed.
Portland has to feel snake-bitten. Before Bowie, there was Bill Walton and his injuries. The Blazers only received 2 full seasons out of Walton, and they won a championship in one of those seasons. When Sabonais, finally came to the U.S., he was a good player, but not the great player from the Olympics, due to age. Now the Oden injury. Maybe Portland should relocate.
EC low-post scoring and w/ improved rebounding, you have to commend Zeke for making the trade for a center as opposed to gambling that we could win the lottery and draft Oden. Good foresight by Zeke.
JohnQ, I agree that we do not want "those people" coming to the burbs, doing nothing, and living off the taxpayers. What can we do to make Afroman more productive to Long Island?
Just think.
Portland has 12 appearances on national TV this year.
HAHAHA
How many were going to be losses with G.O. in the middle?
How many are guaranteed losses now without G.O. in the middle?
Hmmmm.
Not only is it painful to watch G.O. go down...it's going to be painful to have the country watch them go down. Sucks to be a Portland fan today.
Do they change those NBA scheduled games on TV?
In light of this, I imagine they must. No one wants to see Portland now. They've got to be the youngest team in the league sans Miles.
Just thinking.......Nuche may be blowing up the "I don't care about white people" quote to illicit a reaction out of people who remember his supposed comments about Bird. For anyone who doesn't know, he said (actually it was a D Rodman comment but Zeke somehow gets credit) " If Bird was black he'd be just another player". just food for thought.
Willis
Pryzbilla is said to be starting at the 5 as per the fans. I dont know much about him though except that they are real high on him. Evidently, Channing is a straight up back up PF. Go figure. I think he's better than that.
Statesman...
Why you wanna go and start something? Dang. I can't bring you guys nowhere. LoL
MAK: Take it easy on Alan and don't jump to such wild conclusions, guy!! Fas as I can tell, all he said was "it's a trainwreck".
Besides, these are ALLEGATIONS - NOTHING HAS BEEN PROVEN one way or the other yet!!
LMAO!
Statesman, I do dishes, but only when I don't get my manicure.
Barf:
Statesman's gonna make some people move! That's some funny stuff. lol
JohnQ:
They don't call you JonhQ for nothing. That was a very keen observation. "Nuche" is trying to get the public to revolt on Zeke with that accusation. She knows the way the media here in N.Y. is towards the organization. That's a public opinion move.
You also keenly stated that the original quote was Rodman's. Most people don't know that, and it has been mis-represented in the press as Zeke's. The media baited Zeke into agreeing with his team mate in a time of war with he Celtics.
Good stuff.
db.one
this is the second time you confused me.
when you post, your name is at the bottom of your comment. in an earlier blog entry, you confused me with...um...someone else. I think it was Dan amidst our Alan Houston discussion.
Now you target Mak, when it was Everett who is responsible for the things you are responded to.
Keep your head up...aim and then shoot.
You don't want to know about the details behind a sexual harassment trial involving the Knicks president and coach? You're a beat writer, you don't choose what you want to know about. You go out and cover the news. This trial is news, like it or not.
Calling the plaintiff's possible jury award "cash winnings" is flat-out sexist and insulting. And what do you mean by "innuendo and allegations"? Try calling it testimony next time. Not too sound too much like a Law & Order episode, but this is a trial, dealing with serious charges. You may be a sportswriter -- who has to work with Isiah -- but you're also a journalist. Belittling a trial before it's resolved makes you look worse than a biased homer. It makes you look like a moron.
Ryan's mad. Furious even.
BARF, despite the fact that there is very little happening in Knick land worth losing too much time over, you're kicking ass and taking names. Kissy. Kissy. (No hetero. LMAO).
Just watchin' bud. A bit tied up and waiting for the storm clouds to clear MSG.
But since I broke silence:
Lindys and Athlon are out as of this week. Knicks are getting short shrift (this is really how I talk. HAHAHAHAHAHA). Neither have them in the playoffs although the cover of Athlon's is slightly complementary.
Willis. Your comments on MSG were a grand slam. I am considering adding to it, but I'll just wait until the plaintiff's proofs are complete.
Until later, Peace.
I wish it was Basketball season already. I hate this Zeke thing. I wish it did not happen in knicks ground. Lets get back to basketball talk.
LNJ,LNY
Playing the background, I got it. Its all good. Checked out Athlon and Lindys online. Gracias.
Speaking of kissy kissy. Check out Jackie Christie's blog. I know, I know. Why would you?
She gets shredded on the comments by posters. I mean, shredded! Doug Christie gets it too!! Its hilarious when you think of her reading about how people despise the both of them. So if you feel a bit sadist today, why not drop by and drop a line or two. HA
Rey T
Trust me. I wish the season would start already. This case is garbage.
I’d answer Everett, but everybody else has done a good job. One more point that I think should be made. Yes, Alan is a journalist. But the piece we read was posted on his blog. I suggest to everyone there is a huge difference between the kind of writing one can do for a newspaper and what goes into a blog. The whole point of these things, it seems to me, is for everyone to come across with opinions, which is the antithesis of what a journalist is supposed to do. I'm sure if Alan had to write about the trial for the paper, you'd see a very different story . . .
That makes the very premise of Everett’s post irrelevant. You can’t hold a blog to journalism standards. Apples and oranges.
I agree with Alan about the trial. I wish I didn’t have to hear about any of this stuff. Especially because I don’t believe we’re ever going to know what really happened. It’s like watching a bad movie than having the projector break before the end. So you never find out what happens.
The key to this whole thing, it seems to me, is why it actually went to trial. Lawyers I know are shocked it got this far. (Sounds like the judge is, too.) But that’s something we’ll also never know. Was Dolan willing settle, but not Anucha? Or was she willing to settle, but not Dolan?
I know most people on these blogs think little of her. I don’t know enough to judge. I don’t think she has any more or any less credibility in all this than Isiah – who, definitely, is innocent until proven guilty. If she can, then we’ll know.
I just wish the papers weren’t full of it. I’d rather be reading about almost anything else.I hated the way the Larry Brown Wars tore the team apart – but at least it had some entertainment value as a spectator sport. This is just ugly. In the end, nobody wins.
Excellent post, Alan . . . feel better . . .
Wow, what do u think the Portland GM must be thinking right now?
Note to self: next time take the guard !?
davonn
didn't you and i have a discussion about oden vs. durant back in the franK's Knicks Knation days? I said at the time that durant looked really good in college and that I thought whoever won the draft should really consider this guy but at the time i was called out for not picking a "no-brainer" in Greg Oden.
Hope the kid heals up and can still play, its a shame about his untimely injury.
yo Orange and Blue-
I was in barnes and nobles today. the athlon's pro basketball has already dropped.
my advice? save your money.
they predict the knicks come in fourth in the atantic. they ranked zach randolph as the 18th best PF in the game (dlee did not even rank in their top twenty) crawford did not rank in the top 20 sg's. marbury was 13th best pg, curry was I believe 8th best C in the league. these guys are truly idiots.
they predict jersey winning the atlantic, boston in second, toronto in third, nyk in fourth and phili in last.
for the playoffs, they picked the eastern conference finals as new jersey versus chicago, with chicago loosing in the finals to phoenix.
Man, Oden going down... whew!
They should've drafted Jordan...
DB.ONE:
"train wreck" what train-wreck?
I posted about Houston coming back not for the money but for his love of the game which I thought was admirable.
Not sure what you're referring and I believe BARF pointed that out too.
Jersey vs Chicago ????? Get the flock outta here ! We are going to be better than both of those teams boys ! I can't wait til the 1st time we slap RJ, Kidd and co this year. They simply can not match up with us inside. Letting Moore walk was a mistake. He was a worker. Can anyone tell me that EC and ZBO arent going to eat Krstic, Magliore, and Allen for lunch ?!?!?!? Come on now ! Chicago is a different story but they are losing some of their toughness as well w/ the loss of PJ (I will forever hate you)Brown and the aging Ben Wallace (34?). We should be pretty well matched up inside and outside w/ them w/ our bench being the deciding factor. We have a full load of weapons there too. While I'm on a roll who else we got ? The C's ? After the big 3 have logged 82 games at 40 minutes a game on their aging legs, there won't be enough in the tank to complete a playoff run and thats barring any lengthy injury to any of the 3. Thats a death sentence fo them. Besides their PG suxx and their C is weak. We wil beat them inside and out w/ Marbury driving to the bucket, or EC scoring easily because of our dominance at those positions. The Cavs? I can't be the only one who was supprised they made it to the show last year. Besides Lebron they simply don't have team. We should beat them handily. We are just too deep for them period. The Raps? We will have to adopt a more aggresive strategy w/ this team but if we can guard their perimeter shooters I think we will still dominate inside. Bosh can't handle both of our bigs. Miami? The all geriatric team isn't going anywhere this season. Detroit and Orlando are going to be tough match ups. Orlando has decent size and Detroit is Detroit. I haven't counted them out in years. I think the Knicks bench makes a world of difference in those games. Buuuuuuut still the Knicks come out on top. I see the Knicks going to the playoffs deffinitely and making some noise while they are there. As you can tell I'm hyped about the season and there is no reason not to be. GET EXCITED Y'ALL THE SEASONS 'ROUND THE CORNER!!!!
GO NY GO NY GO !!!!
....and why do they have Phoenix coming out of the West ? Whats different from last year ? If they were going to win, I felt it would have been last year. Albeit it may have been a different story if Horry wasn't such a good hockey player. Being a firm believer in defense wins championships, I don't think the Suns have what it takes to win a title. Besides, this off season they haven't added any significant defensive pieces to make me think otherwise. San Antonio may repeat.
@ Trane...
Thanks for being you and providing such sound posts on this BLOG!
@AH..
Drink lots of fluids and rest. We can Fix this as we always do. Don't be surprised if your cold is related to construction dust. In that case, lemonade (real lime juice) is the best antidote for clearing the passages. This is a secret from the developing world where dust is ubiquitous.
Newbie Fixers...
If you've been watching the traffic here like a double dutch rope setout, read back to understand the established relationships existing here at he Fix. We're a COMMUNITY of NYKFLs. Most of the men who post claim love (no homo) and others just claim to know. Don't start none, won't be none. At this site are NYKF and as such are Kings/Queens of the F'n Hill, Top of the heap. Peaceman has been here talking about how the community should weigh treatment against women as more importantly than others view the treatment against dogs. Remove the veil of hypocrates and judge your own value to and of women. Castigate where pontifs really matter--not on a b-ball blog for crying out loud. And if the plaintiff prevails on a $10 million lawsuit, that amount will be called: not "losings", not "settlement", not "bounty"; it will be called "winnings".
From my vantage point, I can see where IT could have called ABS a b!tch. It could also be ABS (All Bull Sh!+). Still, where is the "unwanted sexual advances repeated over time after one rejection by the afflicted party"? I guess that is to come. Seems like some folks have already tried the case and convicted the defendant beyond a REASONABLE doubt.
Our beloved world is an interesting place and the chickens always come home to roost. The Great Eqwualizers always sees to that. Read the side board from the main page: Wish well onto others and it will be returned to you multiplied.

I've been a fan through some bad regimes (Bianchi et.al), and this one actually makes me feel embarrassed to be a Knicks fan. It detracts from the positives of David Lee's breakout season, to Marbury's shoe campaign
I once heard Peter Gammons say "If a team is at the bottom, then the problem is at the top."
Get well soon Alan.
Starburyfan:
Thanks for the info. I'll be checkin out the bookstores this weekend. Tired of talking about hearsay and gossip.
Also from what you said about Athlon take, they doesn't even have us in the playoff's. I want to see if the other pubs echo that statement.
Heck when we make the playoff's and win despite the circus this year they should shove their expert analysis up where the sun don't shine.
orange and blue:
rick kamla (nba fantasy dork) also has us missing the playoffs. about the knicks he said "congrats on going back to the lottery and actually getting to keep you pick this year," in reference to the eddy curry trade. i still like that trade in new york's favor. curry and balkman for Ty Thomas and Jokim Noah? Noah hasn't played his first game in the league yet, but Balkman gave Noah fits in college and I have to think their level of talent is close to the same at this point.
in a month or two we find out definitively.
too bad pockets (dolan) didn't want to write a check to make ABS go away. just what the knicks needs, bad press to start off a supposedly "new season."
too much stress in the nyc. ask Pharoahe Monch about it.

You said it all....DITO!!
Let' move on.....
Now who do we need on this team to get the beat writers to think we can win the East. I like what we have...I think most of us do.....but do we have enough to win the East?
this loyal soldier should be coaching my knicks
http://www.nba.com/knicks/news/williams_070912_interview.html
respect to herb williams. he knows and respects the knicks history. he deserves an opportunity to coach the knicks whenever isiah's tenure ends.
@DLT
I believe that you are King of the F'n hill. Don't you? Until someone knocks that cinder block off your shoulders, keep believing and carrying yourself that way.
DITTO for the NYK.
Let the boys play (young guns, et al., Nice-n-Nasty, Bad Boys II, etc.) and then we'll see.

I could care less about this bogus trial! Doesn't change a thing about our Knicks! I believe when the smoke clears, eveyone will be saying " all that for what? Man that was some weak shyt" Guys don't let any of this cloud our upcoming season. How many days to camp?
I have a therory! Anyone seen Bill Russell lately? No, me either! I believe that Russell dyed his hair, and is on a secret Human Growth Hormone Study, and is REALLY GREG ODEN! Wait till this story breaks out! LOL
Starburyfan:
Love that word "Fantasydork."
Nice link "Crush, Kill, Destroy" Dolan. "Crush, Kill, Destroy" Nouche. "Crush, Kill, Destroy" the NY Media. That oughto destroy stress.
Anyhow I'm so bored I actually found a nice little compilation of our beloved Knicks looking foward to this upcoming season.

Fixers...
Let's get back to what we do best.Fixing!
Starburyfan: I agree, Herb has what it takes to lead this team, no DISS on Zeke.Chemistry is a big key this year especially.
Steady: YOU are MY Hero!
that video was good orange and blue. they even had the balkman dunk in dallas over harris.
hope we put it together this year and make this a squad with chemistry. no more losing guys on d, no more poor ft%, cut down on a few turnovers, and we're in the second round of the playoffs. that's how I see it.
respect:
DLT Knicks, Steady, BARF, lives in jersey, davonn, orange and blue, peaceman, don, don ado, JohnQ, trane, db.one, statesman, willis, african, sunil, HarlemBoyinMD, BronxboyinMD, rush, Kevin Harewood, Dan,Cooleyhigh, Mak, DNM, Alan Hahn, Ali G and Ken Berger. you made this lengthy knick offseason bearable. a few weeks of season previews plus the preseason and it's over.
jersey in first place? we'll see about that. why, just because of kristic, s. williams and allan houston? we got zbo, chandler and nichols. just a little bit tougher than the aforementioned three.
@ Starburyfan,

I feel the same, bruh...
Personally, I'm just tryin' to get thru the "muck and mire" of this ridiculous trial. Not much more to add than whats already been beat to death. I'm just waitin' for some good ole' fashioned "Knick News", and for the season (pre) to start.
Stay up, bruh....I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
