Randolph, not Zach, cited for reckless driving
I was en route to Manhattan for a scheduled afternoon meeting with Zach Randolph at the Knicks basketball camp at Hunter College when my cell phone rang. I was told to turn back and head home. Zach didn't make the trip.
When I arrived home, I went online and immediately saw an AP headline with the words "Knicks", "Randolph" and "reckless driving."
Crud. Here we go.
It took a second for my eyes to re-focus and catch the word "Morris" and "Kentucky."
So as far as I know, Zach Randolph remains in Portland where he either missed his flight to New York or it was canceled. And any speculation about Z-Bo blowing off a Knicks appearance is overshadowed by Randolph Morris' brush with the law.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - New York Knicks center Randolph Morris was arrested early Tuesday and charged with reckless driving.
He was arrested by Lexington police, according to district court deputy Clerk Glenda Walls. He was released on $100 bond, with a court appearance scheduled for later Tuesday.
According to the arrest report, which was obtained by AP, Morris smelled heavily of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. He acknowledged he had been drinking 30 minutes earlier and was given a preliminary breath test at the scene, with his blood alcohol level showing .069, below Kentucky's legal limit of .08.
("Whew," said the Knicks.)
According to the AP story, Morris reportedly took a wide turn onto New Circle Road, just a few miles away from the University of Kentucky campus where he played college ball. The officer reported Morris accelerated to 62 mph — 17 mph over the speed limit — and didn't use a turn signal as he sped down the exit ramp.
Morris was arrested by Lexington Metro Police for reckless driving at 3:10 this morning at Richmond Road and Lake Park. Fayette County District Court reports he was booked in the county jail just before 4 a.m. when he posted a $100 cash bond.
A hundred bucks and a headline all for almost missing his exit.
This is Morris, the other Randolph, so you're inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was under the legal limit, which is key. He also didn't get hurt. What he did was commit a traffic violation. The good news is, no one else was hurt, either.
As for Zach Randolph, there's no word as to when he's coming, if he's coming any time before training camp.
N8 the Gr8 makes an appearance tomorrow at the camp with John Starks.

Nice weave with the name Randolph. I was looking forward to what you could get out Zach.
Maybe next time you are looking forward to an interview you do a mailbag. That way, if he flakes and doesn't make it, we could all be disappointed.
Wide turn??? 17 mph over limit??? no turn signal??? Must be rough being a rich black man in a small white town. Been there ... lived that.
AP article about a moving violation??? Must be rough being a professional athlete.
@Alvin Glymph
save your racial remarks for the daily news blog, they discuss such topics there daily-no doubt they're talking about it now. the host of that blog loves to make racist remarks.
my brother, who is neither rich, white, nor black, just got the same moving violation. when you don't drive according to standards, you should be penalized regardless of your status--economic, sexual, racial.
this is a blog about the knicks. randolph morris is a kid from kentucky who played well in the knicks summer league recently. by definition, kids tend to mess up, hopefully this is an isolated incident and we can talk about his post moves off the glass that he just showed knicks fans last month in vegas.
