On the Yankees beat

It doesn't seem too promising to have Mr. Sheppard at the stadium's final game as he was supposed to be back a few other times it seemed and he hasn't been back yet.

I love the fact that Jeter still has a tape of Sheppard announcing his at-bats during games, it shows how much the players love the guy (or how superstitious they are but I prefer to think it's nothing but love).

Sheppard is another over rated sap, and speaking of such, why arent you at work, we owe money, and the kids are delinquents, thanks to you.

Sheppard should do the final game no doubt in my mind....I hope it turns out that way as its already going to be tough enough closing it w/out a post season.

To bring a person's children into a troll rant is beyond deplorable!

That, I believe, is the point.

Living in Maine one understands quickly that black flies are constant irritant in the summer months....my grandfather used to tell me "Don't swat at 'em...just makes 'em mad and they will call all their family and friends to the party."

Why does Bob Sheppard's plaque in Monument Park say that he's announced "hundreds" of player names? The actual number must be well into the thousands.

Mike: Perhaps the plaque means Yankees names only? I agree though, even if it's just the Yanks, he probably announced at least a thousand different Yankees in the '80's alone, hahaha.
