Today's lineup

Bobby Abreu arrived today with a sore left wrist. He has been scratched from the lineup.

The new lineup:

Damon LF
Jeter SS
A-Rod 3B
Nady RF
Giambi DH
I-Rod C
Cano 2B
Ransom 1B
Gardner CF

Gardner against Kazmir. Ouch.

The Yankees don't know how long Abreu will be out since they just found out about his injury, which apparently happened on a slide in the ninth inning last night.

Expect Melky Cabrera or Justin Christian to join the team in Seattle tomorrow.

It doesn't look too good for the Yanks tonight as they face Kazmir and they counter with Rasner.....ugh.

Jim A:

The Rays maybe finding the heat of September games quite different than the prior months as they are uncharacteristically commit unforced errors. I hope it continues.

Gardner, Betemit have some great seats of late!

Larry M.,

You make a great point! I was pondering the sameduring last night's game. The heat is on!

I am outside Panama City where are you in Florida?

Realist,

Sarasota,

I was all set to attend the games this week but the urgency is vacant as far as I'm concerned.

Its amazing. I play every team's lineup against the Yankees and wonder how we could be in this position but all I have to do is look at the pitching even if we made it to the playoffs. I doubt that we'd go further than the first round.

The real disappointment to me is the lack of inning development for Joba, Hughes and Kennedy. Hughes is the real mystery unless he had a total mental meltdown. Next year the rotation will be a mystery once again.

I lived in Ft. Myers for 14 years and have friends in Sarasota!

I have to agree about wondering why this team is where they are and it really comes down to lack of clutch hitting. Injuries aside, there is no excuse for this lineup not to hit when it counts.

The lack of inning develop is frustrating concerning the big three but we will have growing pains with our youngsters and feel Joba is the real deal and Phil will be. And with some luck kennedy could be a #4 in the National league ;-)

Even if they could have hit for the situation not even get a hit but move runners over or in for the score. I believe we could be 5 games at a minimum plus in the win column but what if is not my style ,it is what it is.

I have lived in this area for 11 years relocating from Long Island. I go back to NY to get a food fix and enjoy some of what I miss in the City becuase I don't see change moving very fast in this neck of the woods. Sarasota can't even put a plan to get the Red Sox here for ST. They lost the Reds and their economy. People in high places without a clue but the weather is fantastic and the area is clean.

If I didn't have Directv and the Yes channel. I'd go nuts for baseball.

Larry,

Long Island born and raised...I need a hero and pizza fix!

I have found a pizza place in Lakewood Ranch, SR 70 & Lakewood Ranch Blvd. where my son lives, its called Michael Angelos. The owners are from LI and Yankee fans. Its the best pizza. A close second is Valentino's on Clark Rd. north side. Side street escapes me but a trattoria menu. So, if your visiting your friends have at it.

My son is running in the NY marathon and my wife and I will be in the food fest marathon, hoping to finish 1 & 2. But when the trips to NY are over we're glad to back. Its strange but sometimes home is not where the heart is.
