On the Yankees beat

We seem to be lacking a live blogger today, not sure what happened, so here are updates for those of you following along at home. The Yankees lead 2-0 midway through the third on solo home runs by Derek Jeter and Xavier Nady. Mike Mussina, who is looking for win No. 18 this season, has allowed two hits in the first two innings.
Jeter tied Babe Ruth for second place on the Yankees' all-time hit list with his third inning single. he now has 2,518 hits.
