Yankees lineup, Joba throws bullpen

Joba Chamberlain threw 35 pitches today, all fastballs and changeups, from a mound. He threw 20 from the stretch and 15 from the windup.
"It was good, I warmed up quick, I got loose real quick."
Chamberlain will throw his next bullpen Monday, but maybe throwing 45 pitches. He'll also be allowed to throw sliders and curveballs that day.
Joe Girardi wouldn't commit to any kind of timetable on Chamberlain pitching in games, but Chamberlain guessed at least a week. If he needs to come back in relief, he said that's fine. He just wants to help this team.
Girardi said: "He's going to pitch for us again in the big leagues this year. I don't have any concerns about that."

The Yankees have an opportunity to gain ground in the wild card race, as Boston already lost today. They also got what one would think is good news, since Josh Beckett will miss the upcoming Yankees-Red Sox series.
