Yankees stink it up vs. Red Sox

Ugly game. half hour team meeting afterwards. Nothing good to say.
Here's Johnny Damon: “We put the pinstripes on, and there’s a lot of pride that goes with that. It’s embarrassing … we’re getting shut out almost every other day and barely scratching out one run other times.”
Also from Damon: “The Steinbrenners spent $200-million on us, and we haven’t shown what we’re capable of. We’d better do something soon.”
And Joe Girardi: “We’re not where we want to be, and we have to start winning a lot of games.”

These guys don't belong wearing the Pinstripes. I haven't got to the point of questioning their desire to win. No guy making 27 million a year without his later year options can get up with RISP and hit .230. You have got to get lucky occassionally.

To think that the game was over on Jeter's errant throw to first on the double play in the first is crazy. Its time to start resting/sitting down or whatever some of these guys. The first guy is Abreu, then Jeter. Jeter looks horrible at the plate and almost as bad in the field. The back of their baseball cards should be forgotten and decisions made on what is happening , now. These six games will be a defining moment for the team.

The Yankees should be very shy of any contracts signed with players past 34. Jeter included. He has become a double play waiting to happen. Damon's bat looks slow again. $200 million dollar payroll for the bad news bears.

On a positive note, Melky sitting down for one game sparked a bit of a fire in him. Two hits and a takeout of Pedroia. Youth. Past performances are not indicative of future results. Buyer beware.

Sorry for the Rant but my addiction called the Yankees got to me last night. Where is the pride? Today we'll get Rasner goes nine for the win.
