Here's the lineup for tonight's afternoon game against the Red Sox. Johnny Damon feels a little bit better, but he's not able to play today. As of last conversation with Joe Girardi, no decision had been made about whether or not to put Damon on the DL. They're hopeful maybe he'll be able to play by the Tampa series, and that they can get by until then.
They do have a very thin bench at the moment, though, especially since Jorge Posada is under the weather. He's supposedly playable, but he was never in reporter-accessible areas while the clubhouse was open. Girardi said he could use Wilson Betemit in the outfield, then joked that Mariano Rivera can run down balls. Mariano would LOVE to someday play in the outfield just to say he did so, but the only way they'd actually let him do it is if it were the last game of his career.
Rainy here, so cross your fingers for getting the game in.
