Hideki Matsui has been shut down through the weekend. Joe Girardi said he's still optimistic Matsui will be able to resume play without surgery, but surgery does seem to be a looming option.
Ian Kennedy has been moved up to Triple-A Scranton.
Chris Britton pitched two perfect innings with two strikeouts for the Gulf Coast League Yankees.

I'm going to avoid the ole blog here during the Sox/Yankees series
I get along here, but when the Sox and Yankees play, I can be as venomous and petty as anyone.
So just keep in mind no matter what happens, when the series is over... the Rays will still be in first
