That's bad news but not unexpected. I guess another catcher (Greg Zaun?) is a necessity now.
Jorge on the DL means JD should be pushed into the DH spot, as we speak. Let him get some AB's in before the series with Boston.
If the Yankees make the playoffs with all these injuries. I would guess Girardi will get a few votes for MGR. of the year which I believe he's doing a very good job. It might be easier if the team would hit some more.
We have 2 catchers on the roster - Molina and Moeller. Had a feeling there were other reasons for keeping Moeller. I say Posada should get the surgery now. He has always been able to throw runners out and you know he has to be frustrated being looked at as a liability because he can't throw anybody out. If Yanks pick up another back-end starter like Washburn, and a righty hitting outfielder, we should be ready to make a 2nd half run. I like our chances.

Posada's bat is a huge loss. Molina is only going to win games by being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Bonds is the cheapest, biggest bat available.
