Morgan Ensberg in trouble with the law
Here's the sign that Mike Mussina put on his locker for all to see:
1-year contract: $1.75 million
White Range Rover: $75,000
$50 cell phone ticket in Harlem: priceless
-Morgan Ensberg
Ensberg, in his defense, said he had no idea you can't use cell phones while driving in New York. The copper didn't buy it. He handed Ensberg a ticket for $50. But there's no points on his license, Ensberg happily reported.
Here's how it went down:
Ensberg said he was talking on the phone with his brother about the classes he's taking at UCLA at about 10:45 last night. He drove over Macombs Dam Bridge and through Harlem to get to the FDR. But before he got there the siren came up behind him.
"I said I played for the Yankees, but I don't think he heard it," Ensberg said. "I wasn't trying to finagle my way out of it. I was just trying to explain why I didn't know."
Not that it mattered.
"Two days here and I already have a story for my kids," he said.

though when a traffic cop caught me on the phone at an intersection, he just motioned for me to hang up...
negligence of the law is no excuse. pay the fine and welcome to NY Ensberg :)
