Giambi not in the lineup

1. Johnny Damon LF
2. Derek Jeter SS
3. Bobby Abreu RF
4. Alex Rodriguez 3B
5. Hideki Matsui DH
6. Robinson Cano 2B
7. Jorge Posada C
8. Wilson Betemit 1B
9. Melky Cabrera CF

Girardi speaks to us at 11, so we'll get an update on Giambi then.

Okay, let's see a raise of hands -- who's really surprised that Giambi's hurting? Seriously, guy can't play first more than a few days in a row. It's been proven.

The game will be played today right? I'm headed out to the stadium shortly.

Let's hope so. I'm already here!

The Yankees need a dominating performance and to get right back at it before this snowballs. They are not playing like a 200 million dollar team. They're playing like a bunch of guys who don't know each other and are tentative and unsure.

Clearly Tampa Bay is showing they won't be pushed around this year.

As I said, Halladay and AJ are two of the best pitchers, so you have no choice but to play small ball. The wild pitch and error Toronto gave us that particular game on a plate ... we could easily have lost that game. Toronto was a wash.

However, Tampa is a different story. Clearly they are younger, more talented and far more hungry. They came into our place in the cold and kicked a 200 million dollar team all over the yard. This does not bode well for the rest of the season. They will only get more confident. I can't understand why Tampa and Colorado have a far deeper and more polished and better on field core than we do for all the money we spend/waste!

I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens this year. But we have to accept the possiblity of no playoffs and then wait till Giambi, Moose, Farns, Damon, Godzilla and Igawa, along with Cashman, are shipped out and we can really complete the rebuilding project.

What to do with Jorge and Mo and A Rod as they hit 40 will become the new bundle of dead wood. But they have all done so much for the team. I guess I am glad they stayed. But what I see is the same team that layed down in front of Paul Byrd last October, and he was throwing with a tumor, poor guy!

Hopefully Viper won't act paranoid and insane today, ranting about this and that! Like the crazy aunt you keep chained up in the basement ... it's embarassing but we have no choice but to endure it. Plus there are a few laughs now and then ...

Go Yankees! On to victory.

And Rick Keyes, thanks for the nice things you said about me ... I will treasure that always ...

And Ankiel ... 2 HR's already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not bad for a pitcher!

Ant,
You keep an aunt chained up in the basement? This is probably not the best place to share that secret.
hahahahaha

I'll wait until the first of June to start reaching for the Schick single-edge'd, thank you very much.

I don't think anyone's shocked about Giambi.

We all knew going in that having Jason at 1st was essentially going to be a short term thing until he got hurt - even the Yankees knew it (hence the reason Ensberg is still here). I really think this is going to wind up a straight platoon for the year with Betemit getting the lions share of the time. Eventually they will call up Cody Ransom to be the utility infielder and that'll be that.

Like I said in the other string - wouldn't shock me for the Pirates to get a call in June/July about Doug M.

Ant,

Be careful what you write. You might make the Viper cry! Then he will accuse me of being you and you being me and claim he knows peoples IP addresses as if we are a bunch of kids that can be fooled by made up tales of mythical spying ability.

So Viper,

Whats my IP address?

Whats YOUR IP address?

What is an IP address?

Three question you can't answer!
