Pregame chatter
Yankees (13-13) at Cleveland Indians (12-13), 7:05 p.m.
Starters: Mike Mussina (2-3, 4.94) for the Yankees and Aaron Laffey (0-0, 0.00) for the Indians.
Last starts: Mussina goes for back-to-back wins. He gave up two runs and four hits in seven innings against the Chicago White Sox last Wednesday. Laffey fills in for Jake Westbrook, who is on the DL. Laffey has never faced the Yankees. He was 4-2 with a 4.56 ERA in nine starts for Cleveland a year ago.
Good times, bad times: The good - Chien-Ming Wang pitched sensationally on Sunday, allowing no runs, just four hits and nine strikeouts to pick up the win. The only run the Yankees needed was on a solo home run by Melky Cabrera, his team-leading fifth of the young season. Cabrera hit just eight all of last season. The bad - Jorge Posada is headed to the DL for the first time in his career with a shoulder injury. He will meet with noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who repaired his torn labrum in 2001.

Trying to figure out the new in game blog format....my posts aren't showing up.
It turns out the new live blog does not like my usual browser (Firefox).
Did anyone read the 176 comments posted under Newsday's on-line story about Roger Clemens and that 15 year old Country Music girl?
The comments were terrible, horrible, disgusting and even hilarious at times. The Pork N Mindy comment was just too much. Some people are pretty funny. The story generated quite a response.
I just can't imagine why Clemens would be with a 15 year old girl when he was 28? When I was 25 or so I was already teaching at Baylor. I wasn't hanging out with 15 year old high school sophomores at Waco High School. It's unthinkable! Did Clemens get to sit at "the cool lunch table?"
What was Clemens thinking? It just sounds so crazy! The drama never ends with this team. It's just unreal ... what's next?
Anyway, hopefully we will win this game and get beyond .500. I am not sure how to feel about this season but I am not going to get upset about it.
If it turns out to be a US$ 200 million debacle then you can be pretty sure we'll say bye-bye to Cashman, Steinbrenner's son-in-law and hopefully try to rebuild with real, polished, clean-cut and hopefully moral American talent.
The numbers this season are terrible. Cano was hitting .152 and some of the bullpen ERA's are 6 and even 8! Wow what a mess!
Doesn't the story have to be proven to be true before the guy is convicted? I hate the guy for a lot of reasons but jeez, let's make sure he's guilty of the crime before jumping all over him.
No, Jim, that's not how it works in King Anthony's Court of self-righteousness.
GUILTY!!! GUILTY!!!! GUILTY!!!!
Meanwhile King Anthony is probally a supporter of ancient popes that blessed slave ships, but king Anthony forgot this one episode.
When the Village was going to stone Mary of Mageline (excuse) Jesus said "Only those who have not sinned should cast the first stone" no one did NOT EVEN JESUS"
