Yankees up 4-0

The Yankees lead 4-0 in the bottom of the first. Melky Cabrera led off with a single, Derek Jeter walked, and Bobby Abreu hit a two-run double. Alex Rodriguez just hit a two-run homer to right-centerfield.

Also, Johnny Damon had X-Rays and an MRI on his right foot this morning at St. Joseph's Hospital. He took a ball off his foot yesterday. Both tests came back negative.

Just sitting here watching each guy in the lineup doing what he does...

...let the games begin!

Oh, wait --

-- pitchers not quite ready yet.

Question for those who know more than I (should be a good number out there ;-) -- are the umpires also in ST getting their eye in? Or do they have a separate ST of their own before this all begins? Or what ...

WOW

CASHMAN IS ON WITH M& MD

Mad dog is badgering him about why pitchers don't pitch more than 200 innings and basically calling Cashman an idiot for babying the kids LOL

Thats like 2 spinster arguing over who knows more about men!

Pretty good outing for Wang. He def seemed to get better the longer he was in there.

Sinker was in the mid 90's and he was keeping it down.

Gave up 2 Hits and no ER in 3.2 Innings.

8 Ground Outs.

Good to see.

I've been waiting to hear the news on Wang, Thanks Mac!

Yeah Wang look like Wang pre ALDS everything is looking good so far.

I would like to see Joba get more comfortable but he's Joba I'll be patient.

Did anyone catch whether or not M&MD asked Lonn Trost what will happen to Thurman Munson's locker when the Yanks leave the old stadium? I only caught the tail end of the interview with him.

I didn't hear them bring that up but i wouldn't mind knowing as well.

I missed the end of that interview because they are interviewing Girardi during the game.

Some notes on that:

1. Girardi really thinks he knows how to get the most out of Farnsworth. Farnsworth is happier and feels much more comfortable this year.

2. David Cone asked him if he thought Molina would end up being a regular catcher for one of the starters. He doesn't have a specific pitcher in mind yet but he does believe they will pair him up with one of the regular starters eventually. Molina has been hitting the ball well this spring.

3. Girardi said the young guys he sent down yesterday have a lot of talent and really likes their work ethic is outstanding.

4. He said the toughest decision he has left is the 3 open spots in the bullpen. The next 20 or so days will decide.

So Girardi will get the goods out of Farnsworth

Dusty Baker couldn't do it with the Cubs
The Tigers coaching staff couldn't do it
Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone couldn't do it
And Joe Torre couldn't do it

But Girardi is going to do it

I'm telling you Farnsworth is the crazy hot chick that everyone falls for and thinks "It will be different with me"

I think Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone actually did do it, didn't they? Isn't that why the Yanks got him, they thought he had finally reached his potential when he was with Atlanta?
