« Spring training invitees | Main | Alex Rodriguez gets another honor »

upcoming NY Baseball Awards dinner

For those of you who can't wait until spring training or the regular season to get a live baseball fix -- at least, those with extra money to spend -- the 85th annual Baseball Writers Association of America (New York Chapter) dinner is coming up. It will be held Sunday, Jan. 27th, at the New York Hilton.

This dinner is where all the national BBWAA award-winners (MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of Year and Manager of Year in each league) are honored. All eight are expected to be on-hand. The winners were Alex Rodriguez (AL MVP), Jimmy Rollins (NL MVP), C.C. Sabathia (AL Cy Young), Jake Peavy (NL Cy Young), Dustin Pedroia (AL Rookie), Ryan Braun (NL Rookie), Eric Wedge (AL Manager) and Bob Melvin (NL Manager). Also expected to attend this year are Yogi Berra and newly elected Hall of Famers Goose Gossage and Dick Williams. Some winners of the NY chapter awards will be there, including Craig Biggio, Johnny Damon, Billy Wagner, Joba Chamberlain and Bobby Murcer.

Tickets are available to the public. They're not cheap, but it's an excellent event. It's obviously not every day you get to attend dinner with all those people. Tickets are available for $225 by calling 201-871-5924 or emailing Phil Pepe at Philpepman@cs.com

Also, are people still having problems posting on the blog? It seems the complaints are down. I was in the office yesterday, and it sounds like it's mainly been specific to the Yankees blog. Has the problem been fixed?

Kat,
Thanks for the info on the dinner.
I'll test the posting process right now by posting a couple of times in a row to see what happens.

Testing

Don't know. Let's see...

Testing

It's still busted. I got the same old error and had to trick the system to post this.

Go kick some butt in the IT dept Kat, go all Irish on 'em will ya?

DRU:

No need to defend yourself. Your posts are interesting and well-written. You're obviously a talented person who loves the Yankees and enjoys writing about them. Not everyone can multi-task, type fast, and work at a job where they have some free time to blog. You're fortunate enough to be very talented AND lucky at the same time. Apparently your critics can't understand anything beyond what Barney has to offer them and that's so sad for these little kids with their little minds and slave-driving jobs. Keep up the good work and keep blogging away.

SECURITY CODE STILL DOES NOT WORK.
HIRE A NEW TECH GUY OR BLOGGERS SHOULD BOYCOTT THE SITE.

All the regulars here should decide on a new blog to post to and boycott this site. Pick another site or vote on one and have everyone go there instead. This site is not worth the trouble. Adios.

Security Code Still Sucks..thanks for the pat on the back. I just love talking baseball, maybe I do ramble on sometimes. You should hear me at a game when I have some beers in me...lol I used to play catcher in HS ( no Al Bundy stories ), so I usually try to call the pitches/game in my head. I hope to coach little league one day, we will drill the basics all day long! OK, enough about me before Diane hates me even more. ; ) j/k yang, you know I love you!

..back to baseball.

Well Kat, I posted 4 times today and it worked each time on the 1st shot...if you are reading this....its #5.

test 2

test 1 failed

test 2 went through - I think the preview is what screws it up - try w/o previewing

test

It's not the preview. I never preview and it very rarely goes thru the first time.

I hope this goes through the 1st time. Give them some more time, good things take time.
Do you like to comment on this sight? I read some very good stuff here...unlike Dru, I'm a bad typist...so give them a break. You people have a lot of fun getting up in each others face, sometimes. It makes me laugh a lot, besides, most of the time you all have good points.
God, I can't believe I am trying to settle everyone down, I like a good fight.
Give em' some slack!
