And the Baby Bombers can play!

This has been some inning. The Yankees have batted around the order, with NO outs, scoring eight runs so far in the top of the fourth. It looked like they might have a rough night, as Andy Pettitte gave up six runs (five earned) in the first three innings, and regulars Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon are all on the bench. Then came eight runs in the top of the fourth (so far) by the Yankees.
Every starter has scored for the Yankees (including rookies Alberto Gonzalez and Bronson Sardinha).
It's 9-6 Yankees with one out in the top of the 4th.

It turns out to be 10 runs in that one inning, so it's 11-6

Well just hold on and when they bring Mo in for the 9th he'll blow the game for the Yanks!

He should shine in the playoffs. Looks like he's primed and ready to go!!!!

The ol "One and Done"...coming up!!!!!

This game is irrelevant....and so are th Yankees!

They can score 24 or lose 16-0!

Inconsistency = No chamionship again!

Seven years and counting.

$200 million doesn't get ya much in New York City anymore...does it!

you mean your MOM blows

Sounds like jealous Mets fans who are worried about their sad sick team who is CHOKING. CHOKE, CHOKE, CHOKE, LOSERS.

Or maybe it's One and Done every 89 Years Red Sox fans. Can't tell difference between the two losers who can't stay away from Yankees games or Yankees blogs. No life, no guts, very rare wins. That's the Mets and Sox.

$195mm and in or $116mm and out? Think about that possibility Met fans. It's actually even less because ESPN isn't deducting the amount Texas pays. $10mm more comes off the books with Pavano this year.

Okay Andy, you did it! Your ERA is now officially over 4! Now knock this crap off...this was your mulligan.

I could accept the Bolt nickname John G. Kind of like a lightning rod which is how I respond to the moronic triumverate at times.

That; was my thinking Daddy.
You have that quick wit.

Who wanted Veras on the post season roster anyway?

That guy should be tarred and feathered!

He did just make a good pitch though...

They won it. Veras picks up his second save. Go figure.

Okay, one more 'fall training' game where anybody who needs to gets his work in, everybody who needs rest rides the pine, and those who still hope to make an impression get their last licks -- that would be tomorrow. See you then.

That was a great pitch to Markakis.

I got company now so I'll see you guys later or tomorrow.

Better rest all the regulars tomorrow so they can be fresh for Thursday. What nonsense!

Abreu & Cano will not be rested. Abreu needs 1 more RBI for 100 and Cano needs 3. Torre will let each try for it tomorrow.

There was nothing good about this game.

Andy and Moose have been totally rocked. By the O's.

Clemens is down. I don't know what happened to Ian ...

There was one bright spot, Duncan homering. Hopefully he will hit C.C.

But the pitchers may bounce back, look at Maine with 14 or 15 K's and a near no hitter. Wow ...

No, HYD.

Torre said on the postgame show that Cano will not play tomorrow and that he congratulated him on a great season.

Since this thread is about the Baby Bombers I will take advantage of the opportunity to say that I was unduly harsh in my comments earlier in the year about Cano and Cabrera prancing and grinning foolishly around at moments when their actual performance didn't look like anything to grin about. I realized my mistake when I watched the Mets for a while yesterday afternoon. Their youngsters Reyes and Milledge demonstrated what prancing and grinning combined with truly unpleasant attitudes could look like. As I look back over the year I can not remember a single moment with C&C when they were not good-natured 'nice guys' along with their silliness. My apologies for the harsh judgment. I seldom watch games that don't involve the Yankees so instead of comparing them with other peoples kids I was comparing them with our veterans. My bad.

You'd think by now Yankees fan would get it. Fall training is right -- since these games don't count, they are preparing for the post season -- and that's not just by resting. Established pitchers like Mo, Pettitte, Mussina are working on certain pitches they usually have trouble with. They all laughed after these games and said they were only "getting their work in." Pettitte said he was working on some pitches and was disappointed in those pitches. Mo was laughing also stating he was just getting some work in. They are not throwing their best pitches, they are throwing pitches they need to work on. These games mean as much as spring training games -- and that would be $quat $hit.
