The Yankees are up 5-3 in the bottom of the 8th. They can thank Johnny Damon, who hit the go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh, if they win. Damon is batting .356 since July 20th, and he played a superb leftfield tonight. Andy Pettitte gave up three runs in seven innings and Joba Chamberlain pitched a scoreless eighth.

You have to be quite naive to believe the BS that lame SULLY was spewing about DAMON...He is so caught up in his vendetta against Johnny D. he is incapable of rational thought.
Yankees owned Dice-k!! In last three starts gainst Yanks He had era of 6.98. I though Boston had great pitching. lol.
on 880 am they said that Kennedy was coming up and pitching on saturday.....confirmation?
you realize how meaningless this game to BOS is? sure, a win is a win, but there is nothing to gloat about. glad the yanks won, i wouldnt go as far as saying BOS has no pitching is foolish.
and YES just said kennedy is starting saturday
yanks need to win next two to make any sort of statement to BOS- but need to win period to get ahead of SEA.
tonights win was a good series setter, especially with clemens vs. beckett tomorrow. pettitte was surely missed, and good to have him back in pinstripes.
Hey good win for you guys.
With the Mariners losing now, I still think the Yanks are winning the Wild Card. Best sit Mussina for the rest of the year
Anon, when did I have a vendetta against Damon?
Is this like when you said I am a sick Yankee hater and then proved it by cutting and pasting a quote where I didn't say that?
Just curious
Dice-K just doesn't have it against the Yanks.
Oh well. Beckett v Clemens should be interesting
I'll be at the ballpark in SF tomorrow
Have fun in blog land
Me no rikey Yankee hitters , they too good for me. If I was on another team I wouldn't even be a .500 pitcha. Nice investment Boston , wait til I have to win important game. Me so soggy.
What great country! 100 mirrion foh .500 pitcha with 4.00 ERA.
When did you have a vendetta against Damon?
Since he signed with the Yankees you mawkish phony.
