White Sox lead 11-8

It's been an interesting game so far. The White Sox scored eight runs in the top of the 2nd inning to take an 8-0 lead. All the runs were against Roger Clemens, though only three were earned due to a Robinson Cano error extending the inning. But then the Yankees scored eight runs in the bototm of the 2nd to tie the score. It's now 11-8 White Sox midway thru the 5th.

Interesting note in the pre-game notes today. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Yankees have outscored opponents by 137 runs this season, the largest run differential in the majors this season.

In this game, Wilson Betemit hit a three-run homer in his first at-bat as a Yankee.

No worries ... we'll probably win 17 to 15 or something like that.

Sometimes the Box Scores don't make sense

Yankees without a DH not long ago

Glavine pinch hitting for the Mets

And how Clemens, or is it Lemons of Piazza criminal beanball fame, giving up 9 hits in 1.2 innings?

And he made more for this than Lucy used to make in a whole year!

That seems fair!

An interesting statistic! Too bad it's just not our year. We're riding high now while we beat up on bad teams (well at least worse than us), but that schedule after we beat up on AAA Kansas City is going to kill us. Cleveland, Seattle, LAA 6 times, Detroit 7. Tough Baltimore for 6 more. Tough Toronto and then no rest day after all that and Boston comes in most likely 15 games up. It's not going to matter what happens that weekend!

Hi, my name is Giesuppe Franco. Please buy my product...if you haven't already.

Thank you and go Yankees!

Way to be positive there YankeeMan.

The Yanks just have to win the games they are supposed to win against the bad teams and try to win their series at home and steal an occasional series on the road. Their pitching is getting healthy and the offense is awake so they can beat a lot of the teams that they couldn't earlier this year.

I posted this on the earlier thread but for us old timers, August 2nd, 4:02 PM marks the 28th anniversary of Thurman Munson's death. This is truly a sad time for us true Yankee fans.

Not for nothing but Konerko looked like...Like...A-Rod on that homerun LOL

He murdered that ball!!

Perfect form, execution, etc...

If i was a on a panel of judges I'd give that homerun a 9.8

If it was the Russian Judge-8.5

JOBA!!!!!

JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on guys! Don't let this one get away...dammit!

2 outta 3 ain't bad.

We always seem to lose the day games after the night games. It doesn't matter who we play.

Just gotta put this one in the books and get ready for KC.

On another note:

Farnsworth SUCKS!
