Here's the lineup for tonight's game. Manny Ramirez is out, both today and tomorrow, with back problems. That's a huge boon for the Yankees, even if his home run and RBI numbers are down somewhat this season. And the Angels are beating the Mariners 6-2 after 8 innings. If that holds, the Yanks would be tied for the wild card with a win.

Who said that Giambi can't play defense? LOL
How about that?
A Red Sox player got plucked.
What are we doing stealing?
Seattle lost 8-2
Did you have a good time at the game Sully?
Yeah... it was hot. I bumped into a dude I knew while producing for public TV and we chatted about Bonds and the prospects of 2008 (he hasn't given up on 2007!)
But MAN the ballpark in SF is such a great place to see a game and to wander around and watch it from various vantage points.
It was HOT though
John G.,
You know I love you bro ... but Beckett can and has shut down the Yankees ...
See the 2003 World Series Game Six on three days rest, still throwing 93 mph.
(Can't trust the guns though ... allow for - 3 MPH is my rule.)
Ooof
We need a little 2003 magic tonight.
This doesn't look good
Sully I am so glad you had fun at the game.
Nothing can equal Busch Stadium when Ankiel hit that 3rd home run in this 2nd game back ... second of that game ... people went insane for like a month.
It was on the cover of The USA Today, St. Louis Post-Dispatch AND the Weekly World News at the Supermarket.
Schnucks!
Imagine if the Red Sox still had Hanley Ramirez!
This is ugly early.
Might be a good time to take the kids out to the playground or something
It's about that time of year in the Bay Area where the temps rise. Sept and Oct are their summer months. But you probably already knew that.
This game is early and Boston is too good a team.
3 runs are not enough. i would have loved to get those other 2 in, but Beckett made the pitches that he had to make.
Ant,
He's a different type of pitcher now than he was in 2003.
Ant, I'd rather have a Cy Young candidate in the rotation and an All Star third baseman
Without Lowell and Beckett, we'd be behind the Yankees right now
Nice play by Hinske and Pedroia.
That triple just reinforced how big a play that was!
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!
John G.,
Yeah he is different ... more of a dork cause he is with the Red Sox ... ha, ha!
That's cold Ant.
BBBBRRRRR
