I want the yanks to win but its a longshot at best.

To attempt to save this season with a blockbuster trade is wrong. To sell our youth for this season is wrong. Save our pitching prospects is right.

If Cano, Abreu, Cabrerra, Matsui had timely hits or moved runners and the bullpen could find homeplate. Bruney and Proctor couldn't find homeplate with GPS their last couple of outings. We could have Marv Throneberry at firstbase and win.

Please Cashman resists selling of our youth. So,we don't win this year. We maybe in position big time by 2009.

One good thought about this year. Mo's longevity is improving with each game. His prospects for a longer career are improving. He'll be showing no ill affects from this years pitching duties.

Fire Torre is akin to all those fans that scream "put the backup quarterback in" simply because they are pissed with the way the starter is presently playing. With the injuries, bad bullpen, and bad bench, no one is turning this crew into a winner.

Look, Torre doesn't get a free pass, but this team simply is not a championship team. We scored 4 runs in a three game series at Coors. We lost 2 of 3 to the pathetic Giants. Our bullpen can't throw strikes, we have light hitting Cairo at first base, we have no bench, etc. The tell tale sign for me is that this team can't for the life of them get a runner home from 3rd with less than two outs or execute a bunt. Championship teams (or even those that hope to compete for one) execute much more often than the 2007 Yankees.

While I don't like the job Torre has done this year, firing him won't fix anything. He's not going anywhere. If you can't stand to watch, hop off the bandwagon. We'll swing by in a few years to pick you up....

Although I have been as pessimistic about this team as anyone on here, I still would not totally rule out a shot at the wild card. Albeit a very slim chance, if Cashman (Ha!) can make a few deals that either sures up 1B, an OF position of solid bench player, in addition certain players having off seasons pick it up a bit, then maybe you make a run at a WC. I am doubtful but I have not yet put on my Funeral suit.

We don't have a very good team overall right now, but it is what it is, and no one person can make up for its multiple deficits. We can still hope for some modestly positive trade moves and that one or two guys who usually do better in the second half will heat up. If those two things go in our favor the team may still be able to build on the great years that AR, DJ and JP are having.

P.S. Funny how some think it helps to call out the name-callers with more name-calling, isn't it?
