Johnny Damon has been scratched from the Yankees lineup with an abdominal muscle strain. Melky Cabrera will play center field and Josh Phelps will DH.

Pretty big change in the fortunes of these two teams compared to when they last played each other. Joe Torre called it "a 180", and Willie Randolph said it's a "league of streaks. we're not getting the voodoo dolls out."
Torre also said they will likely be creating a spot for Kei Igawa before too long, either in the starting rotation or in long relief.

I'm getting very tired of Damon and all his injuries. Unfortunately, we have two more seasons of him.
We're better off with Melky in CF anyway, plus Melky hits better as a leadoff hitter.
