Disgusting.
I'll give Boston some credit. Important hits when it mattered etc...Obvious blah!!!
The point is we went back to sleep again!! And worse than that Mussina is simply being asked to perform (for him in his current state...MIRACLES) THE DUDE IS OLD IT'S NOT FAIR FOR HIM TO BE HERE ANYMORE!!!
85mph?
I used to throw 80!!! HAH whatever...bad joke point remains however and Chip and I, well-CHIP...had more factual evidence to support basically the same claim which I believe we share and have for longer than just this year. MUSSINA Godbless the man IS SIMPLY UNABLE TO PLAY IN THE AMERICAN LEAGUE.
Come on people lets call a spade a-old hasbeen...Truth be told at best NL BOUND 4th Starter on the Washington Nationals. I used to really like him I did. That was when I was 16 but I did A LOT!!!
Pack leader..."Allow Me"
When Mussina throws that slow sub 90s-to sub high 80s?
His other nibbly clever stuff suffers to the point of being a "near batting practice experience..."
I hate to share such pessimism with all of you who I consider friends and share such a unique and important commraderie But this is not good...Take Mussina off the team today and we're still in deep DOO DOO DOODIE....
Just one day after the team showed signs of life?-They relapse like a couple of toothless methampetamine addicts congregating at their favorite 7-11 dumpster.
No fire...That freddy krueger dude had us chasing garbage and popping everything up give his unfortunate lack of good looks credit. We couldn't hit him.
...Now rather than go absolutely insane with frustration and rage I'll stop before I touch on "ABREYOU!!!!!!!""
I hope everybody survives this awful season. I've wish I could've joined last year though. I can only imagine how much more fun we'd be having without all this up and and down bull$hit.
Good night all...
Cas
When are you trading manny again?
Honestly,
This reminds me of the days of these lineups:
1B) Donnie Baseball (My childhood hero)
2B) Steve Sax
SS) Bobby "deep in the whole, he's gonna have to throw overhand, its in the fifth row" Meacham
3B) Mike Pagliarulo
C) Rick Cerrone
DH) Bye Bye Balboni
LF) Claudell Washington
CF) Roberto "Bobby" Kelly
RF) Jesse Barfield
Watching this Yankee team reminded me of the days before I became spoiled with perennial division winners.
I usually eschew personal comments but this game has put me in the mood to give voice to my observation that Papelbon [who does have other better points] gets this utterly ludicrous expression as if a chipmunk in my garden wanted to look REALLY REALLY MEAN and scare me off.
Is this his intimidation face or does he get this look anytime he concentrates?
Because if the former someone needs to put him in front of the mirror with the INTIMIDATION COACH.
Okay. Pettiness attack over, with apologies to all you of better moral character.
Another Bad Call by Blind Umpire
God I’m so damn pissed at this game. Cano clearly had the guy tagged out but nope…we always get the crap call when it comes to that, thus the prolonged inning. 3 runs came as a result of that.
Moose should have come out of the inning with a line that reads:
7 IP, 8 hits, 1 BB, 4 ER (2 HR), 2 K
But thanks to the sh!t call he winds up with a line of:
6.2 IP, 10 hits, 1 BB, 7 ER (2 HR), 2 K
Goddamn ump.
Another blind umpire blew a stupid call on Crisp.. He was definitely out when Yes show damn replay.. MFS must be paying these umpires.
Redsox fans are whining about Arod's slide at second . How about that Dirty Play by Ortiz Yesterday when He tried to hurt Jeter trying to knock the ball loose?
Your Truly,
AB
Diane, that's some truly insightful stuff. Does Rivera have an intimidation face? Or does he (or at least did he) let his arm do the intimidating for him?
I thought so.
Whatever you think of Papelbon's game face, his arm is better than anything the Yankees have going!
Anonymous, please go back to your Yankees title vault and uncover these gems:
1996: Jeffrey Maier
1998: Langston freezes Tino, bogus ball call paves way for game 1 grand slam
1999: Knoblauch phantom tag on Offerman
2000: No ejection for Clemens in game 2, bogus ball call on Posada setting up winning game 5 rally.
Just the worst offender from each year. Point - You've got to be KIDDING being a Yankees fan and whining about calls. Get a clue.
And that was interference on ARod - thought he learned you can't use your hands baserunning in 2004.
Diane should be glad the Red Sox never employed Mike Fetters!
DIANE
LMFAO!!!!
WELL DONE!!!
BRAVO NINJA!!
HE DOES LOOK "INTENTIONALLY DANGEROUS OOOOH!!"....BUT HE's SOO DAMNED SMOOTH HAH EMBARASSINGLY YOUNG AND UNSHAVEN-?
I've seen more more facial hair and intimidation from Jude Law!!
He did get the job done and he certainly doesnt throw like "Jude Damon GASP I mean Jonnny Law SORRY I meant JUDE LAW JUDE LAW SORRY...
Well...Atleast we got a laugh out of this mess.
Good night "ninja"
One more thing...
Johnny Damon.
Over under on his "Verbal" on the "SAT" If he actually had to take one that is.
360.
Watching his "post game" attempt at simple "Q n A" is like viewing the full blown effects of lead poisoning it could be a public service announcement on why children should avoid huffing paint. I'm sorry but when he's not hitting his self proclaimed and well deserved "idiocy" begins to bother me.
It appears that Tavarez should be the Cy Young winner this year!
I just got back from the game today Tuesday. I have been to a lot of games and this is the first time I noticed that there is a lack of effort or there is no "fire in the belly" of the players. I don't know who is to blame, but I think either a roster shake up or a swift kick in the a__ might be in order!!!
Let me make this clear before I go into my rant: the Yankees didn't lose tonight because of Torre, it was because they couldn't get a hit when they needed it and Mussina is done, and I mean done.
But, what was Clueless Joe thinking (and it pains me to call him this because of the 4 rings):
1) leaving Mussina in after that walk starting the seventh. He already got six solid innings from him and with the efforts of Wang & Clippard, the pen was fairly fresh. IT was easy to see the Sox were going to get him the third time around;
2) Abreu in the fifth slot? How many times do we have to watch him pull off of an outside pitch and weakly strike out in a key situation?
3) Matsui in the third slot? 2 for his last 24 going into the game. I know alot of guys are struggling and there aren't alot of great choices, but isn't it generally accepted that your best player is hitting in the third slot? That's A-rod.
4) I'm sick and tired of the Myers v. Ortiz matchup. Has Torre even seen Myers numbers against lefties this year? Has Torre even seen Papi's career numbers against Myers? Comon dude, pay attention.
5) I don't ever want to see Cano & Melky bat back to back again. I can't watch two hackers consecutively, I need a break. Melky swung at ball three and got himself out in the ninth; he simply had no chance to get on (and Cano tried to get himself out by swining at the high pitch but papelbon insisted on walking him). And if we tied it, who was gonna play first base? Why was he dying to get a .220 hitter up there anyway?
Lack of clutch hits, another bust pitching performance by Mussina in a big game, and inability to hit a pitcher with an ERA over 5.50 is why we lost. But, if the Yanks do start to play better, and that's a big if, Clueless Joe's bad decisions will cost us a few close games down the stretch, and we simply can't afford it.
My, my, my....
What a difference a day makes.
Just a quick follow-up to some of the comments on this and other threads regarding the game last night.
Tavares did not "drill" anyone. He did have a wild pitch however...He did pitch very well for the second straight outing...for a number 5, who basically is keeping the "seat warm" until Jon Lester returns...not too shabby.
The steal of 2b by Crisp was not a bad call by the ump...replay clearly shows Crisp has contact with the bag before the tag was applied.
The number of walks the Boston pitching staff has issued in this series is a bit of a concern....however, it could be due in part to the patience that the Yanks have at the plate...bears watching however.
Okijima finally gives up a run.....
Lopez was lights out for the Sox in his 1 1/3 innings.
Papelbon looked rusty, but was still "good enough".
Moose was throwing batting practise....I think he's lucky to get out of it with only 7 runs surrendered.
Schilling vs. Pettite tonight....ought to be a good 'un. Alot on the line for the Yanks...but dont think for a minute the game , and a W isnt important to the Sox.
Unfortunately, my job sometimes requires me to spend time in a court of law doing what I dont like to do...forcing people to pay their obligations....so I will be doing just that today...but I'll be back tonight for the game and will check in.
Have a good day folks.
Does anyone think that the lack of clutch hitting is a direct result of the new hitting coach, Kevin Long. I remember, not so long ago, when the Yanks were patient hitters who worked the count and drove up pitch counts. Guys like Cano and Melky should be working OT to improve their hitting. Last year, you saw Mattingly bring out his "book" on opposing hitters and confer with the batters. That is classic coaching. Where is that this year?
Here's Comment I got from Sosh and Redsox Fans that Arod needs to get drilled today's game
It will be interesting to see if the Sox send a message to ARod tomorrow. That play at second base was uncalled for. He needs to pay.
Let's hope Schilling can give us some solid innings tomorrow for another Sox win. A-Rod, you are more of a p*ssy than I ever thought possible. I hate you and hope you get nailed tomorrow or sometime before this year is over and get your ass kicked by Varitek again.
I would like to see WMP homer and sucker punch Arod as he went by. Then say "That's how you hit little guy."

Redsox fans are whining about Arod's slide at second . How about that Dirty Play by Ortiz Yesterday when He tried to hurt Jeter trying to knock the ball loose?
SO Giambi failed an amphetamines test last year, what impact does that have on the team and Giambi with the contract issue, anyone have a guess?
Personally I think it was payback.
Pedroia slid hard into Jeter earlier in the game and couldn't possibly have touched second base.
As I watched the game last night and it was evident that the Yanks were in their '07 funk. Its apparent to me that Joe has to stir the pot with this team. The vaunted lineup which had 7 lefies in it was crap. Dm @.212,BA@ .242 ans JG @ .245 and all are falling and need to be rested. As melky sits @.222 and rusts away in favor of BA . DM for all his defense needs to given the bench seat more often.
Joe is standing pat and not show a sense of urgency to produce. When the best you can do against a teams #4 and #5 is a split and the league is hitting 5+ ERA against #5. There must be changes and soon.
There were three different views shown of that play of Crisp at 2nd. One was iffy and could have gone either way; but two were CLEAR shots indicating Crisp was out. In any event, when it's that close, the umpire can call it either way, and he gave it to Boston. Once again this season, an umpire changes the entire complexion of the game.
It's easier said than done that teams shouldn't leave games in the hands of the umpires. But how many games are won by just one run? And how many seasons are won by just one game? Way too many. As a result, the umpires have too much autonomous control as far as which team can potentially win a game, potentially making it to the World Series. They can also help certain teams win the World Series itself if they exercise prejudice in their calls. We already know there's no such thing as a "conflict of interest" rule anywhere in the MLB.
It's time for baseball officiating to move into the 21st Century along with every other sport. And please, please don't tell me baseball is more "sophisticated" or "different" from the rest. It just plain isn't. Baseball officiating is archaic, as it allows for cheating, error, prejudice, indifference, and arrogance in an area where there should be absolutely none. The umpires are there merely to execute decisions fairly so as to maintain and uphold the competitive nature of the sport. They should not be given the power to make or change the rules in accordance with their own mental state. It's about time umpiring joined the Computer Age with the rest of the world and abandoned its Ice Age mentality. Umpires will still be needed on the field, but the ultimate decisions will be more fairly and competitively handled.
Lucy: I respect your comment. It surely has merit but we just are not hitting. Joe must shake up the lineup not just the positions in the batting order but those who fill them.
Larry, our over all hitting hasn't been that horrible when you consider the runs scored numbers. The Yankees are not hitting up to par lately, but bad calls by umpires only make matters worse. A score of 4-2 is not the same as 7-2 and it changes the entire complexion of the game. Lately, the umpires have been receiving more attention than some of the players. You know, it's not like we don't have any alternatives or a better solution. We have it, it works great, it's fair, it's competitive, and it's used throughout the entire world in every other sport -- except for baseball. Time to get with the program. Umpires are killing the competitive nature of this otherwise magnificent sport.
Moose should retire. He doesn't have it anymore. he fools nobody and his fastball is not good.
The thing that strikes me most about umpires is that they have to have a favorite team and I'm sure they have teams they dislike. I can safely say that because these guys have to love baseball, they must have followed the sport and/or played the sport. Otherwise, they wouldn't choose this career path. Therefore, they MUST have a favorite team, and every team has one or more adversaries that they dislike. What happens when the umpire's favorite team is playing and a call can go either way? What happens to the close calls that won't be questioned that easily? What happens when their adversaries are playing? Please don't tell me they take an oath and it's their job and they have to be fair...blah, blah, blah...BULL!!!
WHAT THE F@#$ IS A PEDROIA?
HEY IF YOU HAD A PROBLEM WITH A-ROD'S SLIDE WHY DIDN'T YOU GO GET VARITEK'S MASK AND SETTLED IT RIGHT THERE YOU PANSY.
Hello all - long time no speak:
Larry, the problem with Joe trying to shake up the lineup is that he doesn't really have any better options on the bench. Miguel Cairo, Josh Phelps, Wil Nieves, and Melky are not going to spark the offense so all he can do really is keep reordering the lineup - which is sort of like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
Lucy is right that the calls have been terrible, especially on tag plays at 2nd for some reason. I guess it is just proof that when things go bad they really go bad.
Mussina has been awful, no doubt about it. When the season started and he was throwing in the mid 80's I was thrilled when he went on the DL because I was hoping that the groin issue that sidelined him was effecting his velocity; sadly it appears that was not the case. I saw a few posts suggesting he be traded to an NL team. And while I'm sure there are NL teams that would take a chance on him this winter if the Yankees agreed to eat some of his salary, he is a 5 and 10 guy, and everything I have seen from Mussina tells me he is not going to accept a trade to a National League team at this stage in his career. It looks like at this point we are going to have to watch Mussina struggle just like we watched Cone struggle in his last year in pinstripes.
On another note, I don't know whether to be flattered or worried. I have made 1 post in the last 5 days and this morning when I went to look through the recent posts to see what everyone was saying, I noticed that Nudge is posting about me almost every chance he gets - the guy even saves all my posts and reposts them - that's just disturbing on many many levels - I mean I'm flattered that you care but move on guy.
Redsox Fans whining about Dirty
How about Tavarez telling Matsuzaka's pitch Arod inside Up In in first meeting this year?
Everyone knew that Dice- K did that in purpose and was told by Tavarez hit him in purpose.
wishful thinking-
but yanks could use a nice brawl tonight. have schill throw at a-rod, giambi come storming out of batter box and finally put those roids to the test (because, as he admits, he didn't use that "stuff" to hit homeruns), and really get this rivalry going. it worked for boston few years back.
then again, Joe wouldnt condone it. and i dont think jetes would join either. plus yanks dont have sturtze and sheff, so maybe its a bad idea. but this yankee team doesnt need a fire lit under their ass, right?
Chip: I receive the games on the Extra innings package with the announcers more times than not coming from the opposing team. And for the most part the Boston guys are decent. Even Gerry Remy, the color guy was perplexed or surprised by Mussina's lack of velocity. Topping out in the 1st inning at 87/88 but more often at 86. Thou the gun had Paplbon's at about 95 which is slightly low for him. This maybe our season to struggle like it or not.
I saw the fight Varitek got his ass kicked in full gear and all. he got the first hit but got beat DOWN after wards watch the whole tape loser
Tavarez's cheater that use pinetar in the past.. Him and Donnelly are.. I suspect He use some pinetar yesterday against Yankees... That's why St Louis Manager Tony Larussa let him walk .
Knuckle-dragger and his sky-pink world of fantasy strikes again.
Chip,
Your welcome, anytime you want a little notoriety let me know and I will gladly repost your erroneous statements and predictions to remind those here that you are all over the map with what you think. Its nice that you mentioned me too.
Also to AGAIN have to correct your erroneous statements, I referred to you 5 times, during an exchange with your lackey RUSE who didnt really put up much of a defense of you. Then I cut and pasted from the NEWSDAY site some of your past comedy acts. So once again Wrong and Wrong.
Maybe you should just stop making statements like you know what your talking about. Its getting embarrassing.
Leave Mussina alone. He is a victim of suffering from OCD like many people in the world. He needs everything to be or at least feel perfect. When it's not, he's going to struggle. Then, you combine that with old age, you see what you get.
Blame Torre for giving Mussina the xtra day of rest over Wang.
Holy cripes!!!! I want to know what the hell the Red Sox feed their players...Daaaamn!!!! Manny Ramirez is almost as big as Ortiz...and that's BIG...and why do all the players resemble Mark McGuire once they join the team????? Lowell suddenly looking like the Incredible Hulk and hitting like him too (from .235 to almost .500 practically overnight). Man, the Yankees gotta start eating some more Wheaties or something...

same old drumbeat...still idiotic and still ridiculous.
Chip:
Very glad to see you're back; I miss your posts when you stay away. I don't know what buttons in Nudge get pushed, but I sometimes wonder if it is the respect you get here and the 'Pack Leader' title some give you. Envy is dangerous! Just scroll on by...

Yes, it's true that Damon speaks poorly but knowing that he's a stutterer who had to struggle to learn to put even two words together in public, and whose words still come out with difficulty, helps me tolerate his efforts to deal with the press, and to admire his good humor while doing so.
But I am the biggest idiot.

Diane:
I haven't been staying away because of Nudge, work is just busy right now so I can't procrastinate as much as I would like to.
NYDaily News is reporting that Giambi failed a test for amphetamines within the last year (ironic timing that after he makes comments that irked the league office this information manages to get leaked out)
where is George Mitchell? focusing on the Mets and the Yankees.
Lucy, it's ridculous to blame the umps. I'm sure the refs in basketball and the NFL have favorite teams too. The NGA (national gangster's association) doesn't allow replays either. And as an honest Yankee fan, I think the cereal box slid in safely. We need to stop blaming the umps and start making the plays (I guarantee you the Yankee teams of '96-'00 wouldn't have whined about it). Joe should have pulled Moose earlier. And the real problem was Cano booting that ball anyway. While it was hit hard, a good 2b makes that play (remember 3 errors the other night-Cano is mediocre at 2b and nothing more--expect errors like this from time to time).
Casual, the sox should have gotten more than seven runs? Let's be honest, while your team is hitting well, that lineup scares no one. Except for Ortiz, Manny, and Youklis, that lineup is littered with marginal major leaguers (Crisp, Lugo straight up suck). Just wait, a time will come when the sox struggle to score runs.
Cashman needs to see if some trades can be made to improve the bench so Torre has some options. The Yanks should have taken a flier on Walker as a role player. This was Cashman's biggest failing in the off season--there simply are not options on the bench. And Larry, Melky had plenty of AB's at the beginning of the season to prove himself--pitchers have simply figured out that you don't need to throw the guy a strike to get him out. He is be utilitized properly these days.....
Chip,
As stated on many occassions, I love having you around. Post to your hearts content, just try to be accurate!
Contrary to a report in another newspaper, Roger Clemens didn’t fire Brian McNamee, his longtime personal trainer. McNamee didn’t accompany Clemens to his workouts at the Yankees’ minor-league complex because no players can bring their trainers on team grounds. The two men will continue to work together.
McNamee, like his charges Clemens and Andy Pettitte, was mentioned in a Los Angeles Times report last year concerning Jason Grimsley’s conversation with a federal agent.
The government announced inaccuracies in that report, however, so McNamee, like Clemens and Pettitte, should still be considered innocent until proven guilty.
It’s fair to suspect everyone nowadays, but it’s not fair to condemn anyone without sufficient evidence.
Clemens?. Stop making accusations when Clemens didn't failed any drug test.. He's innocent until proven guilty..
In that Case Ortiz and Varitek switch steriods to Hgh (No test)
Varitek struggle last year, and had knee surgery, Look at numbers this year..
I suspect these two players are using Hgh some point.
In My Opinion Ortiz and Varitek are not clean until there’s a test for Hgh.
If you think Giambi’s is on Steriods, your dumbass and hypocrite
How about Ortiz,Varitek, and Nixon and Gabe Kapler..
Ortiz was medicore before He signed with Redsox.. For the Last three years his power numbers, walks and run production increased in 3 year span..
To be fair,,, Twins released Ortiz, then He came to Boston.. His number increased in homeruns, runs, walks..
Ortiz ALCS 2004 numbers against Yankees were incredible.. He’s certainly the Mvp of that series and return 3-0 deficit against the Yankees.
I Blame Bud Selig for not having Hgh test right now.
I don’t think Ortiz is Hall of Famer right now in my opinion..
Ortiz stated that He supports Bonds . Also According toOrtiz didn’t know that He drank some steriods and proten shakes when He young in DR.
Bud Selig has very definite reasons for doing what he does. George Mitchell, a friend of Selig, was assigned to head the steroids investigation. George Mitchell is a Director in the front office for the Red Sox. Mitchell has been asked to step down from one or the other position, but has refused. Here is an excerpt concerning this conflict that Selig has questionably chosen to ignore:
"Is George Mitchell Independent Enough?
By Mike Dodd, USA TODAY
The selection of former senator George Mitchell to head Major League Baseball's investigation of steroid use by players drew a mixed response Thursday, with his close ties to baseball raising questions about the independence of the probe. George Mitchell is the pick of Bud Selig to probe steroid allegations involving big-league players. "I don't think it's good for the game. He's involved in baseball; he's not independent," said John Dowd, the former federal prosecutor who investigated Pete Rose for MLB in 1989.
Mitchell, who retired from the Senate in 1995, is on the board of directors of the Boston Red Sox.
"I side with those who would think it's questionable," said professor Deborah L. Rhode, director of the Stanford Center on Ethics at Stanford University, adding it's important to avoid even the appearance of conflict of interest in investigations of this nature.
Mitchell said he will remain impartial. "I don't think there's any conflict," he told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "I'm going to be independent, have complete independent authority and will act. "I've assured the Red Sox owners that should any matter arise, anybody affiliated with the Red Sox will be treated exactly as will anyone else."
As a Yankees fan, doesn't it give you warm fuzzy feelings knowing that Bud Selig has THAT close of a tie with the Red Sox organization? Bud Selig is a disgrace to MLB.
Stop accusing Clemens without evidence, but just accuse the entire Boston team on a feeling you have? I dont get that pretzel logic. Does anyone else?
It is difficult to support complaints about Ortiz's methods with Jeter while viewing replays of AR throwing his elbow up at Pedroia.
The Red Sox beat the Yanks, because they were the better team last night and sadly for us, have been so far this season. Reading all the accusations of steroid use by Red Sox players and whining about the umpires frankly makes me embarrassed to be a Yankee fan today. They lost because they got out-pitched, which has been the theme this season, it's really that easy.
I love some of the posts last night that were crying for Torre's head because he left Mussina in too long. If he had removed him earlier and a reliever would have given up more runs, then that same person would have been asking for his head on a platter because "once again, he over used the bullpen". Watching the game and knowing how each move turned out, then second guessing is really easy, I don't know of any managers who have that luxury. Maybe the Yanks should hire the lady from the National Enquirer who can see the future to be their next manager?
Here's conspiracy theory
Bud Selig are sick of Yankees and their continue success in 1990's. Bud Selig are friends with Boston Owner John Henry and Larry " Lucifer" Lucchinno helped them buy Boston Redsox after 2001 season just to destroyed Yankees Franchised.
Also its hard to blame Selig for not having a test that doesnt exist dont you think.
George Mitchell, a Director on the Board for the Red Sox: "I've assured the Red Sox owners that should any matter arise, anybody affiliated with the Red Sox will be treated exactly as will anyone else."
ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, ho-ho, he--he he, ha-ha-ha-ha..ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, ho-ho, he--he he, ha-ha-ha-ha...ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, ho-ho, he--he he, ha-ha-ha-ha..ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, ho-ho, he--he he, ha-ha-ha-ha
Want to preface this by saying I'm not a conspiracy theorist - nor do I believe that MLB is out to help Boston.
That said, Where's the Justice brings up a second instance that shows an appearance of impropriety between MLB and the Red Sox. Remember a few years back, MLB took over the Expos so that the Expos owner could buy the Marlins, the Marlins then traded Cliff Floyd, who the Yankees were after, to Montreal who two weeks later dealt him to Boston - there' wasn't a blog back then (I don't think) I'm curious what the reaction to that series of events would have been.
Again, for those who keep track of my posts, I do not think MLB was trying to help Boston or hurt the Yankees - I just found Where's the Justice's post amusing and it reminded me of another amusing story.
Nudge
1st of all I'm nobodys lackey just because Chip and I see eye to eye about many things doesn't make you judge and jury on this blog or that you know more about baseball because you play in some beer league or your father was some semi-pro reject. ,it's become quite evident you get your jollies from browbeating everyone .Go f*ck yourself!!
I like this Conspiracy theory better.
The FBI since the J Edgar Hoover days has mantained files on a great number of baseball owners. Hoover and Steinbrenner as well as previous Yankee owners all share the same obsession with wearing womens clothing. So Hoovers people keep the Yankees well supplied with players so Hoover and his people can win gambling bets while setting up the Red Sox organization to maximize the return.
Hoover does have a secret HGH test but wont release it because all the Yankees are on the juice!
Thats my conspiracy theory. Makes as much sense as yours but is funnier!
Mussina has to face the fact that he's a back of the rotation pitcher for the rest of his time as a Yankee.
When Clemens and Hughes are back, Mussina will be lucky to be the No. 5 starter. He's looking over his shoulder at Clippard among others.
Ruse,
Sounding just like Chips lackey again. The reason I know more than you and Chip about baseball is because I just do! The evidence is laid before you. I dont care whether you recognize it or not. Free will you know.
ruse, as Diane suggested, just scroll on by.
To go off track for a second, does anyone find it "interesting" that after having their careers on life support both Damien Easily and Shawn Green rediscovered their power (despite moving to a pitchers' park in Shea) while playing for the team that has the second highest number of Steroid busts since the testing went into effect.
Michael Z; Thanks for your comment. I'm one of those Yankee fans who likes the transition of youth but paying on a guy 500K and the other 13 mil. Its a no brainer as far as money goes.
Here's Good conspiracy Theory
Larry "Luficer" Lucchinno and Redsox Players pleads their allegiance to Satan... They use animals blood and drank from it to stay refresh.. Also According to a La Confidential Report, Lucchino had Secret undergound lab in Arizona where Redsox players sources and put Hgh in their body.
Kevin Long is lost as a hitting coach and Mattingly is bored as a bench coach. Put Donnie back at what he does best and bring Tino on board as the bench coach with fire in his eyes.
ruse,
Think of it this way, if a guy is that pathetic that his only source of enjoyment is ripping on you and me, two people he will never interact with outside of this chat room, is he worth wasting your time to get annoyed at? I vote no.
Chip,
Again WRONG! Shawn Green has 5 HR's on track for a MONSTROUS 20 HR season as opposed to his +40 HR days in the AL. The NY Mets are actually right about in the middle of all BB orgs in steroids test positives so please dont make stuff up again.
Myers is so so so SO bad - how is he STILL on this team??? Ugh, it is infuriating. He's just so obviously ineffective and terrible, I don't understand how he still gets the call.
Here's another conspiracy theory.. Terrorists who came from Boston during 9/11
bombed World Trade Center to Destroyed Yankees good Karma and Magic.. That Good Karma and Magic went to Boston.. 2001 Season Patriots won Superbowl and Redsox won 2004 World Series.
Dont you just hate the facts?
Hasnt helped the Celtics any though.
Jim is right, these complaints about various conspiracies that only crop up when our team loses are plain embarrassing.
Whining about the officiating and/or supposed 'cheating' by the opponent when losing is BUSH LEAGUE.
Please show some class.
If you really believe in this stuff it should come up with equal frequency when we're winning.
If it's a way of making excuses, that is beneath our players and should be beneath us. Let's act like we've been to a big league game before!
Go Yankees!!
CHIP
I know it's hard to understand why people come on here who crave that kind of negative attention.Must be a sadist.
On the topic of whining: There's an online poll going on to rate the worst whiners in sports. Apparently only 3 baseball players made the list of 15 or 20 finalists. They are Curt Schilling, Alex Rodriguez and Barry Bonds.
i am a big whiner, especially when casual observer does not give it to me

(May 23): In YANKEES EXTRA INNINGS, Derek Jeter tells Andrew Marchand he will one day own a Major League Team (1:57).
(May 23) Derek Jeter has won four World Series rings. He has dated supermodels, but his dream is to be The Boss.
Jeter revealed Tuesday he plans to buy a major league baseball team after he retires.
"I would like to own a team," Jeter told New York's 1050 ESPN Radio Tuesday in the Yankee Stadium clubhouse prior to the Yankees' 7-3 loss to the Red Sox. "That would be kind of cool to get an opportunity to call some of the shots."
Jeter then predicted he will achieve his goal.
"I will do it one day," Jeter said.
When asked specifically if that team could be the Yankees, Jeter laughed.
"Do you know how much money that costs?" Jeter said. "That is a lot of money, baby."
The Yankees have been valued by some estimates at around $1 billion.
Jeter, 32, certainly is on his way financially. In 2000, he signed a 10-year, $189 million contract. Plus, he is arguably the most marketable player in baseball.
He currently has endorsements deals with Nike, Ford and Gatorade, among, others. Two years ago, he reportedly earned $6 million in endorsements.
Jeter, who turns 33 next month, has no immediate plans to retire. He said he could foresee himself playing another decade. That could mean he may earn another $100 to $200 million.
What excites Jeter about ownership is the possibility of drawing on his own experiences as a player.
"It would be fun," Jeter said. "Like I said, I would like the opportunity to call the shots, make some decisions and be able to run a team. I think to draw on some of your experiences, playing-wise. It is just a dream of mine."
Jeter said he has yet to consult with George Steinbrenner or anyone on how to logistically go about fulfilling his dream.
Jeter has no interest in being a manager.
"I don't enjoy sitting down and watching games," Jeter said.
He also has no desire to be a general manager.
"No," Jeter said. "My dream is to be an owner. I would like to call the shots."
As for now, Jeter is a standout shortstop for the struggling Yankees. Tuesday night, he went 1-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 17 games as the Yankees dropped to 10 ½ games behind the Red Sox.
Jeter is hitting .360 on the season. All-time, he is one-hit away from tying Joe DiMaggio (2,214 hits) for fifth place on the Yankees" list.
I think It's great that Jeter's desire and dreams to The future owner of Yankees.
Hey Anonymous,
Just post the link to the story, you don't need to post the whole thing.
I know it's great that Jeter wants to own a team one day but I think if you surveyed players, at least half of them want the same thing so I don't see the big deal.
Actually Nudge, that "Middle of the pack" quote that you pulled from Omar Minaya (at least give the man credit if you're going to rip him off) was in response to a report by ESPN that had the Mets clearly ranked #2 behind the Mariners in terms of players within the organization who have been suspended for steroid abuses. Minaya, was couching that by saying most of them didn't count since they involved players not on the 40 man roster.
To all true Yankee fans:
It is still early in the season (barely 1/3 done), we are getting older - Mussina, Giambi, Man-who-
