Clemens, A-Rod, Damon

Alex Rodriguez gave us a "no comment" on anything personal, in the wake of the NY Post running huge pics and stories on him being seen with a woman other than his wife in various places Sunday night, including, allegedly, a strip club.
A-Rod did answer baseball questions. He was the leading vote-getter at any position in American League all-star balloting by a wide margin.
Roger Clemens will pitch Monday against the White Sox.
Joe Torre acknowledged that he doesn't know if Johnny Damon will be able to play center field for the rest of his four-year contract, which runs thru 2009.

so that's why arod always hits well in toronto....

Great, now A-Rod is going to be the ONLY major league ballplayer who cheats on his wife. Just like Jason Giambi is the ONLY major league ballplayer who took steroids.

I'm predicting a MAJOR A-Rod slump in light of recent events. He was already "pressing" like the rest of them but he's not exactly a type that seems too comfy with pressure and or "distractions."

Jeter should sit him down and teach the poor man how to evade "photo ops" such as these.

I know Jeter isn't married but the guy if and when he does do things like this you can bet all your gentlemens club dollars he keeps it far from any paparrazi.

That said I think what the Post did is disgusting and if we weren't already going to lose him to the Opt-Out I'd say we can thank the Post for any remaining chances having now disappeared.

Dave

LOL

Well said.

There you have it Torre states that Damon may not be playing CF much longer.Another waste of millions of dollars. If Damon loses his wheels he should retire.Moving him to LF might help.

i say go after torii hunter to play center with damon in left and matsui as the dh.dump giambi.trade or sign a rightfielder with a pulse!

just my opinion.

while im at it fire cashman cause all his moves have backfired! HE SUCKS! and fire torre. he has no clue how to handle a pitching staff!!!!

Damon's throw last night on that sac fly was so pathetic. Him arm is shot and really was never good to begin with.

His best position at this point is DH. Unfortunately for us, you can say the same thing about Giambi and Matsui too.

How about this?

2007 change:

Matsui LF
Melky CF
Abreu RF
Damon DL
Giambi 60 day DL

2008 outfield:
Melky LF
Ichiro CF
Matsui RF/DH
Damon OF/DH
Someonewhocanfiledtheirposition 1B

Get a little Far East in the AL East?

well, we seem to have found a cure for our woes. a double A pitcher... who can't throw a strike...

Tell me why hasn't Phelps been playing again. Is it that he can't hit RHP?

what the hell is happening!!

Gil... Double A pitchers have owned as the past two nights.

We obviously can hammer Double A Red-headed Pitchers.

Do you believe this? We scored 5 RUNS!!!

Quick; someone get me some oxygen!!!

HAH

CANO HIT A BALL.

Toronto needs to send poor "Freckles" back to Double A if he can't get Cano out.

Somebody said Posada was injured. He didn't look injured stealing 2nd or rounding 3rd.

Well,
It's about time the Yanks woke up from that offensive slumber. 5 runs from the get go.....gonna be a good night for the Yanks...

Cas,

We aren't getting too excited yet.

There's plenty of game left for them to F this one up!

Players we may be able to get for a song and turn around.

Jeremy Sowers

Frank Catallanato (spelling)

I also heard Billy Koch has some rare disease. I read about it on Rense.com of all places.

The Red are in last place and the Cards have very good arms in the pen.

We need to dump the older, underperforming non stars and get with a new program.

Sorry for double post, the computer in my office is acting out of sorts, like A-Rod's new blonde.

A-Rod has "blondes" on his mind.

Do you guys think she's at the game cheering him on?

I wasn't impressed...She's certainly no Faith Hill :)

You like Faith Phucker?

Nice looking woman!!!

Clippard's doing fine...
so far!

Maybe he should just pitch road games.

John

Yes, But not as much as Anthony. Inside joke of sorts. But yeah I do indeed fancy her.

Tim McGraw Godbless him is having a pretty charmed life nomsayin...

Why's the gun keep saying 86?

I thought he threw 90 atleast.

Got it! :-)

I'm watching a "pirated" version of MLB Mosaic so I can't see the screen that well and there's no sound.

Clippard just walked a stiff. Oh Vey!!!

Michael PTRS and Nudge,

This woman on the cover of the NY Post (which has all the journalistic integrity of a Bazooka Bubble Gum comic strip) is no Faith Hill, (being an authority on Faith Hill clones, though a new favorite of mine is Nathalie Gulbis of golf fame) I doubt she is really blonde anyway.

And sorry to say, but if A-Hole aka Stray-Rod is whoring around on his wife and going to strip clubs on the road, then why root for him anymore?

He's nasty and I am truly shocked ... I mean, he has a little baby girl ... Imagine what his wife must think and how she must feel right now?

Is this how you prepare to turn the season around, by going to Bada Bing North?

Hoser.

Make Jenny Finch the new batting coach, that might help.

Just my two cents.

Players we should sign

Jeremy Sowers

Frank Catallanato

Jenny Finch of USA Softball fame

And not in that order.

Ant-
I'd agree if this were true but since it was in the Post you just never know. I'd prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt but would be squarely against him if it is true. His wife is a tough girl and we may be seeing him w/ a shiner or two when they get home.

He's getting the ball up!

This kid better give us 6 solid cause i don't trust the pen.

Damn!!!

JENNY FINCH LOL

Well done A-Lo. ;-)

I too am a Natalie Gulbis supporter. In fact if you can play golf and you're a female you garner an immediate 20 to 30 points in the PTRS standings it's huge!!

A-Lo

I don't condone A-Rods ALLEGED (we don't know anything) shady extracurricular act. but it's no cause to throw him under the bus in a baseball context.

Come on!!

It was none of our business and I would've rather not heard or learned of any of this. The Post is should be ashamed. But for the same reason I don't think we should suddenly stop rooting for the guy.

Lets be honest we've enough to worry about with him and more than plenty of reasons to start the boo's of 06.

I hope for his sake it wasn't what it looked like and hope for the best ie (WILD CARD).

Can Phil Hughes please be kept from doing "AGILITY DRILLS"

THIS REALLY IRRITATES ME

WANG DOING SHUTTLE SPRINTS AGAIN COMPLETELY STUPID Pulls his Hammy and now this with Hughes.

If it aint jogging or pitching leave it alone. What physical therapist needs to be canned now?

GRRR I'M VERY UPSET ABOUT HIM

What happened with Wang?

He got hurt again?

I have no sound with MLB Mosaic so I can only see the game.

68 pitches.

This kid isn't long for this world!

Vizcaino warming up in the pen.

I hope that we get some more runs!!!

John G.,
No, Phucker meant in Spring Training when Wang hurt his hammy while running or something like that.

Let me get this straight...the Yanks have another injured pitcher???...or re-injured pitcher??

If Vizcaino is warming up, they better score 12 runs right now.
Man, the bat boy looks older than Clippard.

NO JESUS

CASUAL AND JOHN G.

IT WAS A SPRING TRAINING THING KNOCK ON WOOD

I'm sorry for misleading anyone.

Damn...Jeter just got punched out for his third K of the night. The pitch was LOW and he wasn't happy at all.
I think this umpire has somewhere to be at around 10 PM because he wants this game over with.

Jim

I agree this ump has been a bit anxious to punch people out.

Still...DJ k's 3 times same game you know he's not pleased.

WHEW!!!

Thanks Jim and Phucker!

Jeter is really having a bad night!

he's entitled! I hope that the others pick him up for a change!

Well, gotta go. It's 6:40 here and I'm off to the movies with the Fam.

Have a good night guys!

Hah is John G 13 or 43 yrs old from that comment?

HAHAHAHA

CASUAL

Please tell me you saw Manny lolligag that Hafner hit to center!!

Wow, Yankees scored 5 runs in the first. So they figured that was enough. So back to the usual 1-2-3 innings, as Toronto gets back in it. Pathetic.

Phucker,
Are you getting a bad feeling about this game? I just turned it off because I don't think I can take what is going to happen.

Jim A

Not yet but you're definetly on to something. The pitch Wells just hit to Matsui had 5-4 written all over it.

I am not terribly excited about getting into the pen this early.

So I'm cautiously optimistic. But I'll wait till the 7th to turn it off.

Phuck,

Yeah....Manny really had a great angle on that one....pffffttt!

We need "Clay Aiken"- Clippard to stop struggling with 2 outs!!

Watching Terry Francona, Dice-K and Varitek on the mound during a pitching change is like 3 men standing at urinals. All 3 look everywhere but at each other and don't say a word. Obviously the language barrier for Dice-K is the reason for it but it's pretty funny to watch anyway.

Dice-K looked mighty unimpressive tonight...there aint much to say, except "give me ball and take a seat."

Bruney is the right reliever to bring in here.

JIM A

LMAO!!!!

That was the comical highlight of the blog for today.

The "urinal" thing-a webgem or shall i say
"Bloggem?" candidate of the week.

jim a.

Well Done!!! ;-)

Anyone else in SHOCK that AROD is o fer in light of the recent newspaper stories?

he has a "tired stick" Phuck

A-Rod's average is dropping faster than his pants did last night at the Four Seasons so I'm not surprised that he is not having a good game tonight.

Cas

Yeah but jokes aside this does not bode well for the yankees. I can see this leading to a prolonged A-Rod problem the dude is no "mickey." I think he lacks the ability to tune out certain external pressures.

OKAY THAT'S IT BRING IN MARIANNO IM WITH RICK ON THIS!!!

Jim A

You were right. I think it may be time to unplug. It looked good for a while I just saw Scott Phucking Proctor on his way to the mound GOD THIS SEASON SUCKS

Rick is right bring Marianno

Bruney, doing his job....

As is the Indians Fultz...that's how you get the big lefties out. Did you see that Mike Myers?

inches Jim...inches...the game was very close to being tied

That was a couple of feet...but you are right my friend, it was very close. I think I actually saw Mr. Fultz' cup shudder on that one.
This HDTV has it's drawbacks...

You slap some thick glasses on Farnsworth and you end up with Eric Plunk.

LMAO.....

well thanks to ex sox shoppach...it doesnt seem to matter.....Sox may come back...but I doubt it.

This weekend will be interesting.

Who is nervous?

I am

Sox are gonna lose this one...and Mo looked pretty solid...Yanks will hang on for the win.

Let the weekend be fantastic baseball....

I'm off to bed...sleep well guys.

It's pretty funny reading these posts the next morning as I am now, especially with Cano going 4 for 4. All I can say in hindsight is For shame, for shame, oh ye of little faith (as I look in the mirror).

Jim A, did I see you make an Evil Umpire comment? You're making my day with that post because I'm glad you're seeing what I'm seeing. That home plate umpire was inconsistent all over the place and not just with Jeter. He called them way too low, way too outside, way too inside and blatantly so. The problem is that he wasn't making the same calls consistently for Toronto. What's going on this year with the outrageously horrible officiating? Even in winning games it's just too obvious to ignore.
