Jeter out
Derek Jeter is out of the game. He was hit on the left thigh by a Scott Kazmir pitch in the first inning. Although Jeter took first and remained on the bases for the top of the inning, he was replaced by Miguel Cairo in the bottom half of the inning. No word yet on his condition.

posada's play behind the plate is not to good lately.that the second time he missed a play at the plate.
Mike, that's always been Posada's weakness: close plays at the plate.
He is very gun-shy and trys his best to avoid getting into a collision with base runners.
He does not block the plate and takes the throws out in front, then has to turn around and tag the runner.
Eric:
You are correct, sir. Posada has never blocked the plate. He talks tough but doesn't walk the walk.
Cairo walks on 4. That tells me Kazmir is done like dinner. Miggy is a popgun "hitter".
abreu is killing us with his DP's. he had a huge one yesterday as well. since he has this great eye and can make contact, you'd think torre would consider a hit & run when he's up. but that would actually force torre to actively manage, so scratch that.
"Actively manage"? No, we like to sip our green tea. Zim used to wake us up, where is Zim?

Jeter out w/ a bruised left thigh ,Wang took a shot right in the gut! Man !
i was thinking.if the yanks continue to not do well and the yanks fire torre,i think bowa would be a good choice to take over.he has so much more energy then torre. what do the rest of think?????
I think the best replacement for them would be Girardi.
But frankly, right now anybody (even some of you boneheads out there) would be better than Torre.
good choice eric!
