Hughes looking good

Phil Hughes had a little bit of a rough first inning, giving up two earned runs on three hits. Since then he's been excellent, though. He has allowed one hit and no runs in the past two innings.
It's 2-0 Blue Jays midway thru the 3rd.

Has Torre totally lost it?

Why the hell would you bat Mientkiewicz second?!!

Just when I didn't think Torre can get any more stupid, he surprises me yet again.

Eric,
You spelled Doug M's name right...you have earned some points my friend. That is outstanding work.
I suspect the move is designed to get Doug's bat going? I have no idea what the thinking is.

Doug getting more AB's than Abreu, A-Rod, Giambi, Matsui, Posada, and Cano?!? Where's the logic? Then again, this is the same manager who has led off Melky.

Hopefully Hughes gets another start. I think he and Wang will be a nice 1-2 combo for a long time.

This team looks so flat right now. Better turn it around soon.

Actually, it's not that difficult.

There's a trick to it.

Break it up into 3 separate parts like so:

Mient - kie - wicz

Now, back to Torre.

Why would you worry about Mientky's bat right now?

Is that even the most important, pressing thing right now?

A space shuttle rocket booster couldn't get Mientky's bat going.

The sad thing is that this team has enough talent to win if Torre just stops killing them with his horrible moves.

If this becomes a lost season for the Yanks, most everyone, including the media will attribute it to injuries and "poor pitching" but those of us who have watched this team this intently know better.

It's entirely due to Torre's bad managerial skills.

Just look at the past few games for example.

They were leading going into the 7th and seemingly onto a win but Mr. Bonehead Manager decides to pull an effective Wang for Vizcaino, who then proceeds to load the bases.

He then brings in Myers!

Yes, Mike freakin' Myers!

Pow! Boom! Bang!

A Grand Salami and before you can even say WTF, it's another one in the L column.

While it may just be another loss, these kind of losses have a demoralizing and deflating effect on the team's psyche and attitude.

There's no reason to think Torre is going to change his ways and suddenly gain some lost brain cells.

Nothing good will ever come out of keeping Torre on.

They better get rid of this cancer or this season will slip away very quickly.
