Both Johnny Damon and Jorge Posada are out today. Damon's back is sore, and hamstring tight. He is not an emergency option. Posada's left thumb is bruised, but they expect him to be able to play by Monday.
Chris Britton was sent out to make room for Jeff Karstens on the roster.
Mike Mussina threw a 30-pitch bullpen, and will throw another bullpen Tuesday before heading to make a rehab start. He should rejoin the rotation in Texas.
Carl Pavano played catch from 60 feet, but still feels "it" in his right elbow/forearm.
