Pavano on possibly starting Opening Day

Talked to Carl Pavano this morning about him possibly being the Yankees' Opening Day starter. He seemed to sense the humor in that idea, after his legion of injuries, saying, "I don't know if I envisioned that" when thinking about his return to action.
Pavano's last major league start was in June 2005.
He also said, "It's my time to pick up some slack."

Wang's hamstring is already feeling better, and he played catch today. But he's not supposed to be allowed on a mound for another week.
Pettitte is still not surre when he'll be on a mound.
I have to get down on the field now in Lakeland, but I'll have a couple other updates later.
