MRI for Pavano

operation1.jpgGuess what? The Yankees are concerned enough about Carl Pavano's left foot that they sent him for an MRI and x-ray this afternoon, and they await the results. "I knew exactly where to go," Pavano joked. "I've been there a couple of times." No kidding. Pavano insists he isn't concerned, saying his foot isn't swollen and feels better than last night. But still...

Cashman needs to trade Pavano as soon as possible. Don't give him away, but get offers from 2 teams, get those 2 teams to bid against each other, and move this guy as soon as possible. Pavano is obviously not meant to be a Yankee.

I know Carl Pavano has a bad track record for durability. But this is beyond the beyond. I can think back over my playing days in HS and College when physical issues were addressed with hot and cold compresses, band aids and intestinal foritude. If, you wanted to play ahead of someone. You were not hurt unless your arms or legs were hanging off. Thou, Carl Pavano might be liken to a fine Swaraski Glass object.

Whether Pavano is traded or not still remains to be seen.Until the MRI comes back so as to determine the extent of the injury, let's show a little resolve not to be so reactive to every sneeze ,cough,& bruised foot...If it's broke then I doubt any two teams will enter a "bidding war" for his services...Larry I doubt in HS and College any of you scrubs were under contract for 8 million dollars, otherwise as a precaution you would have been sent to the school nurse...is a Swaraski anything like a Tiffany ?

Can't a guy have some fun with the Pavano situation? Yes, an MRI is in order but ST is a week old. Lets keep a list of reported aches, pains and injuries on CP. We have heavy legs and contusion of foot until further exam.

Colorado, St. Louis, and Seattle are rumored to be interested in Pavano. Showcase him for a few outing in March then take the best deal. Hughes, Sanchez, Ohlendorf, and Clippard among others can't be held down forever.

Larry : I thought we were having fun!...I agree w/ you Rico you can't keep talent buried at triple A.

The said thing from the Yankees' point of view is that the minute they trade Pavano, you know he is going to stay healthy, and if traded to an AL team, will hurt the Yanks.

The guy has had only one good season in his entire career, and it was his free agent year. He's at best average and needs to go. Like Sheffield and RJ, getting rif of Pavamo is addition by subtraction.

Go Yanks!

Jeff : I think the Yanks if they trade Pavano would probably send him back to the NL ,Colorado could part w/Yorvit Torreabla who is a good backup catcher and Ian Stewart ,3B prospect.

I think the Yanks would jump at trading Pavano for Torrealba and the 1st round pick Stewart. If the Rocks are dumb enough to make that offer, Cashman should act quickly. I do believe "Cash" would attempt to get the Rocks to substitute a "good" minor league pitcher, instead of Torrealba. With A-ROD's status for "08" in question, Stewart is very good insurance.

If Pavano is healthy I say let him pitch. He might be lightning in a bottle if he isn't deal him at the trade deadline and bring up Phil. If hes hurt nobody will want him anyhow. He has a world of talent and id like to see him suceed

of course the Yanks have pitching up the "yazoo" why "Cash" needs more pitching prospects would be anyones guess,Atkins is ahead of Stewart on the "Totem" ,so it makes sense either Atkins or Stewart eventually will have to be "moved" in a trade.

Colorado has quietly assembled perhaps the best offensive team in the NL.They have a decent bullpen but are 2 experienced starting pitchers shy of making a run for the NL West crown...Pavano could be a perfect fit provided he doesn't trip over any humidor balls.

This is exactly why I said he should have already been traded for a bag of balls a month ago. I just don't see this guy taking the mound in a real game and making himself more valuable to a team. BC should have got what he could a month ago.

Rick : There is no "caveat emptor" ,awhile ago someone on this blog suggested Pavano would be in essence auditioning throughout ST,teams who need pitching would like to see if Pavano is healthy ,not damaged goods... For a team to have traded for Pavano in the offseason sight unseen would not have been prudent on their part ...let's hope he looks good enough for one team to take a flier...

What a mess, our Mr. Brittle aka, Carl Onavap is hurt again....more cash in the bank, less work done....amazing, how do I get this job!

I am one to admit-I have no respect for Pavano-But for those ripping him apart right now-Is it really his fault he got hit by a batted ball. You know how the Yanks treat their players-Did you really think they weren't going to send him for an MRI given his past. Cut the guy some slack on this one-He said he plans on pitching Tuesday.

The other day I read where Pavano was one of the pitchers that refused the L screen while pitching BP. As soon as I read that, I thought to myself that he was just asking for something to happen so he could hit the DL again. Sorry, but that was my first impression.
