If my cell phone had the ability to take pictures, you'd see that Donnie Mattingly is here and sporting quite the shaggy hairdo. Instead this classic photo from his long haired look on an episode of The Simpsons will have to do. How long is it really? One team official quickly informed him he better cut that in time for spring training, or else... He's already been through Donnie Hairgate one too many times. (In case you're wondering, Mattingly is here at the winter meetings for the trade show to show off his latest Mattingly Baseball hitting goods.)

Donnie needs to give up the Mullet, that is soooo 1985. I think Stump Mitchell is going to corner him in a parking lot with a pair of scissors.

I'm not advocating the caveman look, but I think the Yanks should relax the hair code a bit. Let them chill out and sport some facial hair if they want to.
I don't know. I look at the Red Sox and they look like a bunch of dirtbags, I think they''re called "professionals" for a reason and they should look the part. I read an interview recently with a player who wasn't on the Yankees and he said he was standing somewhere when the bus arrived and the Yanks got off the bus, all in suits and ties and he said he actually felt intimidated by their presence. If they had come off the bus looking like a band, I'm not sure that would happen. I like the respect it gives them.
