So it's a safe assumption we'll never see Sidney Ponson pitch again for the Yankees, so let's play a guessing game. The Yankees need a sixth starter on Sept. 16, when they play yet another day-night doubleheader against the Red Sox, this time in the Bronx. So who do you think gets the start? Ron Villone? Jeff Karstens? Tyler Clippard?
Or dare we say ... Phil Hughes???

bring up hughes for 1 start.....can't be much worse that Ponson, Wright, Lidle, etc.....he'll be in front of the home crowd in the Bronx. Not much downside in my mind.
lol the problem with bringin up hughes for 1 start is that if he dominantes ull be hard pressed to send him back down...and if you do, all the fans will go nuts.
and if he doesnt pitch well, doubt creeps in that he wont be that great...even tho hes only 20.
id love to see him pitch tho but itll prolly be like kris wilson or maybe jorge depaula
Phillip Hughes? Would you really want to do that to the guy? I would take one of the starters from AAA and start him. But not Hughes.
Can you say Carl Pavano?
