Surely no one could have predicted Game 1 going to the Yankees, 2-0, with a five-pitcher one-hitter. But say you saw the Mets' 8-3 win in Game 2 coming and I'll believe you. Randy Johnson is far from a sure thing, and the Mets have now hit him hard twice this season. So now let's look ahead and get it on the record.
Game 3 has Alay Soler going against Jaret Wright. Prediction time. And let's start with mine. The Yankees always have trouble against pitchers they've never faced, so I'll say Soler goes six strong innings. Wright also has been pitching well recently, so this will be a pitcher's duel. I'll say Yankees win, 3-2, on an eighth-inning home run by A-Rod.
Now it's your turn.

Jared Wright wont make it past the fifth inning and Alay will "Soler Eclipse" the Yankees while David will have the "Wright Stuff" in leading the Mets to a resounding victory...As for A-Rod, he'll hit his usual home run with the Yankees trailing 9-2.
thanks. i will try to make it reality.
wright? in a pitchers dual? surely you jest...
Joe Torre is your prototypical nice guy or what's known as a players manager but he leans to being too protective. He needs to establish the fact that there's a side to him that players dare not cross. This doesn't mean he should chastise guys in front of mates or media for all to know but a side session to push buttons are what some players need. By now, he should know which ones to address.
Jetes, Damon, and Posada will be the step up guys for the final game. Mariano (the real Sandman) will come in and do what he does best. 6-4 final. The interleague play for the 2 teams is a wash at 3-3. No blood. See ya at The Subway Series in October.
Yankees prevail 7-6, in a game that neither team seems to want to win. Both starting pitchers will have men on base almost every inning. Both offenses will waste the bulk of these opportunities, but the Yanks will score a couple early due to their "team speed." Both bullpens will be horrible, making this a see-saw, white-knuckler of a game. A-Rod will go 0-5, and strand 7 runners. Yankee fans in attendance will get hoarse from booing, while Met fans will complain of stomach cramps due to extended laughter. Torre will wake up in the 8th inning, just in time to get Rivera in the game to record the final 5 outs. After the game, Steinbrenner will ask Cashman, "Why did Billy bring Goose in so early?"
No predictions, I'll sit and hope for a win.
It will be high scoring. Teams have been hitting .371 at home vs. Wright and .360 at night. Teams have hit Soler hard in last (BA .395).
Oops, correction:
It will be high scoring. Teams have been hitting .371 at home vs. Wright and .360 at night. Teams have hit Soler hard in last three games (BA .395).
Villone and A-Rod turned this game around.
If this game didn't prove that Bernie can no longer play the OF, nothing will. Torre has to stop embarassing him.
Jim, well looks like Mets should say adios to Soler rather than 'Ole!'
Torre did the 'Wright thing' by taking out Wright before he imploded like Adam's Rib Solay caved in.....Willie - Please coach for today, not tomorrow.
Pelfry zoning in soon anyone...??
Bernie from Bethpage.
I think to say that 3-2 pitchers' duel prediction was off by... 13-5. lol
