« UPDATE: Yanks getting Abreu | Main | Chacon for Wilson »

Are Yanks done?

What's your predictions?

Outfielder Craig Wilson and righthander Salomon Torres of the Pirates are two players still out there that the Yankees have expressed interest in...

The Diamondbacks had scout Rico Brogna (yes, that Rico) at Double-A Trenton to see young righthander Tyler Clippard, though nothing was hot on that front last night.

I would think that we are done. We should have enough to get it done. If teams are interested in our minor league pitchers at the AA level. This should send a signal. Enough is Enough. We are staring to dive into the danger zone.

I don't want the Yankees to obtain anyone else who would take what little time Melky Cabrera still has left so that he can play before Sheffield returns.
The one other thing that is very bad about obtaining Abreu -- besides Sheffield stewing (and probably neotiating with the Red Sox for next year already!) -- is that with Abreu, Damon and Matsui, we lose the best outfield arm we ever produced. (re: O'Neill's arm was outrageous but he was obtained in a trade).
Cabrera will be a stud!

I agree with Mark. My biggest concern with this trade is "What about Melky?" He's a patient clutch hitter with a great arm and small salary who brings back memories of the great 90s Yankee teams. He's no big time home run bopper, but we've got enough of those already. The kid is something special, exceeded everyone's expectations, and he's potentially looking at backburner status if and when Shef and Matsui come back. Chris Russo was even barking this afternoon that "Melky's goin' back to the minors!" when the other guys come back. Hey, maybe neither one is coming back this season, and that's why the Abreu deal was made.

yankees just traded chacon for craig wilson straight up.

thanks pittsburgh

i actually wanted to say thanks to the state of pennsylvania for giving us abreu and wilson

I'm glad T-Ciip is now safe.
