Giambi 'single' enrages Bean Dennehy

Jason Giambi just beat the shift with a screaming nubber/dribbler that barely reached the outfield grass where the shortstop normally would play.

It drove in a run with two out in the top of the third against God. Although I'm not in the office right now, I can hear Bean Dennehy screaming "Banjo hitter!" followed by "Freakin' punch and Judy garbage!"

The Yanks may win tonight, they may lose. But when Bean Dennehy sees this headline on the blog, it will be worth it. I know he's furious about that Stache Blast!

Chalk it up to a Francona poor call on the defense.

Even Jerry Remy on NESN questioned the shift with a runner on 3rd.

Pin this loss (WIN!!!) on Francona.

AND......that is the SLOWEST I have ever seen a manager get out to protect a player (Lowell) from getting thrown out over a strike 3 call in the 9th.
Uh.....TOO LATE Tito. You are lucky Lowell's helmet didn't bounce up into the ump. 3 game suspension if it happened.

Manny may have been missing in action, but Francona was simply missing tonight.

Can't wait to see the next time Joba pulls another Bob Gibson on Youk without even a whimper from the leaderless Swacks.
(varitek with his .218 yoke is not cutting the "C" role).

Game, set and match in the 7th inning when Joba dropped Youk and got a strike out of it.

Somebody check for a pulse, cuz I saw no heart in the Swacks tonight.
