Not too many attractive names on that list.
Derek Lowe is intriguing, but he getting up there in age.
Raul Ibanez would have been a good deadline acquisition, but not as a permanent replacement.
Manny would be good for a 2 year deal, but he's like to get 3-4 from someone.
Oli Perez seems like the most attractive pitcher on that list--which is strange.
I would be intrigued by Mark Teixeira, but will the Mets shell out that kind of cash? Probably not.
Regarding Tatis: Everyone has made such a big deal when comparing the Mets to the Philies that the Philies have all these hard-nosed scrappy players that pushed them over the edge. I'm not sure I buy that. Tatis was one of those players for the Mets, as was Murphy, Pagan, Easley, etc. The Mets had those players--that wasn't the problem.
Above poster was I, the Candyman. What a great day today--my national holiday.
