I heard from another site that Fernando Martinez, Mike Carp, Carlos Muniz and Eddie Kunz all will be not be September call-ups because they don’t want to clutter the clubhouse with too many extra bodies in the heat of a pennant race. I am fine with that. But what about Carp? He will be a draft 5 guy in not added to the 40 man roster at the end of the season. Any chance the Mets do something stupid and not add him, but continue to protect Cancel and Molina?
Jon Niese making his major-league debut against the Brewers on Sept. 2 in John Maine’s spot with Bobby Parnell to be called up as well for bullpen duty.
Then Al Reyes and Marlon Anderson up after the 1st, but not Trot Nixon?
Still maybe's Nelson Figueroa, Brandon Knight and Claudio Vargas.
I think the pen is a mess and they should shelve Sanchez for the season, and give Heilman even less work (even though he did have 3 shut out innings).
First of all the guy that posts during th live blog is NOT ME.
I warned you all. I told you the Phillies would stomp us when it counted. I told you all that the Mets would CHOKE yet again.
No bullpen, old men, unclutch players, highest payroll, no farm sysytem to pick from, bad contracts, etc. etc. etc.
The ending will be the same as last year, but a little quicker this time. A bunch of over paid CHOKERS that walk away into the sunset losing yet again.
OMAR MUST BE FIRED !!! The guy is PATHETIC !
They have to get K-Rod. Even if Wagner is healthy (which is doubtful), he is done after next season. If Wagner doesn't like it, he should retire or shut up and pitch the 8th inning. As for the cost, they can make it up from the fat cats in the box seats and corporate boxes at CitiField.
Did I just see above that the Mets are going to bring back Brandon Knight??? If that guy couldn't get a bunch of Korean minor leaguers out in the Olympics, how do you expect him to do against Major League hitters in the heat of a pennant race?
