« Gameday Live 99: Mets at Cincinnati | Main | Wagner re-evaluated; has MRI this morning »

No MRI scheduled for Wagner

Just woke up Mets pr honcho Jay Horwitz (sorry, Jay). Contrary to a report today, closer Billy Wagner is not scheduled to have an MRI today on his throwing shoulder.

Wagner felt better on the plane last night after having some trouble getting loose yesterday before striking out the side in the 10th inning of the Mets' 7-5 win over the Reds.

If Wagner wakes up today and feels tightness again, he may go see the Mets' doctor. That's the latest as of 7:40 a.m.

UPDATE, 5:40 p.m.: Wagner did experience the same tightness in his shoulder this morning, so the Mets sent him to the doctor. No MRI was taken and no diagnosis was released. He will be re-evaluated tomorrow.

I will be in attendance tomorrow, should be a crazy atmosphere. If Wagner is hurt, I think he should just let it go if being "hurt" means he strikes out the side like yesterday.

Anthony, for shame! You know Jay needs all the beauty sleep he can get!
