Adam Ronis to take you through tonight's game. Oliver Perez is coming off two great starts throwing 14 innings, allowing seven hits, one run and two walks with 14 strikeouts against the Yankees and Phillies. Perez tends to pitch well against the better teams and the Rockies don't fit that category this season. He faced the Rockies on May 23 and walked eight and allowed four runs in five innings. It's always an adventure with Perez, so enjoy the ride.
Starting for the Rockies is All-Star Aaron Cook. He is 11-6 with a 3.66 ERA. He allowed 11 hits and seven runs in 7 1/3 innings in his last start in a loss to the Marlins. He allows a lot of hits and doesn't strike out many, but has been successful because of a good sinker that induces groundballs and gets him out of trouble.
