Mets appear loose in early BP
About a dozen Mets showed up for early BP this afternoon at Angel Stadium with new manager Jerry Manuel watching from behind the cage. It even included a cameo by Carlos Delgado, who rarely, if ever, attended these sessions while Willie Randolph was in charge.
One other observation: Delgado doesn't throw a very good spiral. Billy Wagner had the football out for his usual pregame routine -- tossing with bullpen catcher Dave Racaniello -- but Delgado borrowed it for a few throws with Brian Schneider, who was firing NFL-worthy tosses.
Hold on a minute. Maybe Delgado was just getting warm himself. Now that he's partnered up with HoJo, his spirals are getting a little tighter. Not quite Tom Brady caliber though. Maybe more like Chad Pennington.

Hey, I'm an idiot and I like posting over and over again about how bad the mets are and how they need to fire Omar Minaya. I'm probably the biggest loser I know.
